Hotel Jungfraublick Wengen

10/10 Excellent

"Pedro, the view, and the egg machine The hotel sits up a hill from the station — a genuine climb, and worth thinking hard about if you have bad knees. Which is exactly why the pickup matters: a phone at Wengen station dials the hotel direct (essential on a data-only eSIM with no voice service, as we were), and Pedro came down to meet us — friendly and hardworking. The pickup is complimentary; our next hotel charged CHF 20 for the same thing. It only runs from 8am though, so leaving earlier means paying for your own taxi. Staff are friendly throughout, though luggage storage is self-service and on the lower level — you carry your bags down yourself. When we struggled with the laundry machines someone helped straight away, and reception gave us the coins free. All our washing done in two hours. We ate on the patio facing the Jungfrau. Burger and mushroom soup were average; the view superb. Breakfast good, especially the chocolate milk and the soft-boiled-egg machine. One real complaint: the bed — we both woke with sore backs more than once."

"Very close to the train station. Easy walk with luggage. The view from our balcony was stunning. Had dinner one night at the restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious. Very good breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel."

"The staff was delightful. We loved the old world charm. Our bathroom had a leaky faucet (very minor) and it looks like there may have been a leak coming from the room above at one time ( the paint over the shower is peeling). Other than that the hotel was lovely and we enjoyed it. Travelers should be aware that the walk up to the hotel is VERY steep. While the hotel offers transport for you and your luggage from the train station, you will be walking up the hill any time you go back to the hotel during your stay. The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was wonderful. Also, we had to leave VERY early in the morning and they packed us a breakfast to take with us on our journey, which was very nice."

"Amazing 4 night stay. Location fantastic. Hotel room with a view over the mountains, amazing. Food first class, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and couldn’t fault anything. Cheese fondue on our last evening on the terrace a real treat. Staff friendly, helpful. Only comment would be, but cheeky to charge extra for an omelette for breakfast and our car wasn’t outside at 8am despite as requesting the night before. We had to wait around 30 mins. Other than those two comments, would highly recommend staying!"

"The Hotel Ermitage was great in every way. The hotel staff was exceptional. Everyone was incredibly pleasant, personable, and helpful. The quality of the accommodations was excellent; clean and well attended. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Oeschinensee Gondola and within walking distance of the town center. Very peaceful. Overall, it was a great experience."

"Excellent Internet connection. Same as at home. Mattresses Excellent. Air-conditioning work well, and not centrally controlled. Garage almost below hotel. Always available, and with AC car chargers. A lot of them. Terrace on rooftop for breakfast and coffee, looking onto mountains, town and railway. For me as good as it can be. Accidentally stayed after 11 am. No prob, no bs attitude."
