227D: Large Two Story Home, 1 Block from the Beach, Fireplace, Hillside Views -

This is a great two story vacation home located only a block from the beach, and it only has three steps up to the front Dutch door on the side of the home. The first floor offers a spacious open floor plan with a living room area, dining table for six, a breakfast bar with stools facing the kitchen, as well as a half bath and laundry area near the back entrance. You will also find a 46-inch flat panel TV with Blu-Ray DVD player and a gas fireplace for those cool island evenings. All three bedrooms are on the second floor. The master bedroom suite, with a king bed and ¾ bath, also has a 42-inch flat panel TV and Blu-Ray DVD player, as well as French doors that open to an outdoor deck offering hillside views. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and 31-inch flat panel TV, the third bedroom has bunk beds, a single bed with a trundle and a 31-inch flat panel TV, plus there is a ¾ bath in the hall. Since there is carpet on the steps and the second floor of the home, please leave your shoes just inside the front or back entrance upon entering. FREE wireless internet! (There is a studio apartment attached to the rear of the house that has a year-round resident.) 227D | | | This vacation home rents on a nightly basis (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted; 3 night minimum mid-June through Labor Day). QUIET HOURS: 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. (use of outdoor areas strictly prohibited).

Great Family Home

The home is exactly as advertised. It is very close proximity to everything (we walked with 2 kids to everything). The only issue we had was that one of the toilets upstairs was having an issue. Luckily we were able to fix it the couple of times it gave us problems. If you traveling with kids, the home is not equipped with a pack n play, but the property management company referred us to an outside rental company and that worked out great. All in all, it was a great stay!

Location fantastic. House should provide beach towels. Wonderful to have beach chairs and umbrellas. Easy walking to the beach and town. Easy access to hiking trails.

This house is in a excellent location. It does need some love.. the front door needs to be replaced, doors in house need to be cleaned ( although I didn't wipe them down) , stairs banister needs a cleaning and paint, AND most of all the carpet needs to be replaced. Same carpet that was there 10 years ago when we stayed there.

Great location but …

Great location but thought the property was outdated and needs some work. When you First walk in the place was pretty musty. Bathroom toilet paper holder was barely hanging on the wall, and lots of carpet stains.

The location was perfect, close to town and the beach!

We had a few problems with one of the toilets not working and the main t.v. But the maintenance people came out quickly to fix the issues. We were told there wasn’t a washer/dryer on the premises but there was one! We wish the information on the rental had a description of all of the amenities but none was given.

Awesome week!

This was our first time staying in this house. We lived the lay out and the house felt like our home for the week. Definitely coming back to 227 Descanso next year!

Clean, comfortable, and convenient

We were a party of 6 including our 3 grandkids. This house was perfect for us. Most importantly, it was very clean. The location made it easy for us to go back and forth to the various activities and restaurants. We were very comfortable there and would not hesitate to stay there again. I don’t usually give reviews but I was very thankful for the reviews when I was searching a place in Avalon. So maybe this review will help a future traveler.
