Prepare to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city at this oceanfront home! You'll enjoy a prime location within an easy walking distance to the Avon Fishing Pier, many restaurants, and Club Hatteras.

Enjoy refreshing cocktails on the furnished, covered deck equipped with two beach chairs, three chairs, and a high table, perfect for outdoor gatherings. Back inside, the open layout combines the living, dining, and kitchen areas; each one of them is well furnished, spacious, and comfortable. The living area offers guests two sofas, a ceiling fan, and a large, wall-mounted flatscreen TV with cable. When dinnertime comes, the dining table can seat up to five guests and the small island offers two more spaces. The fully-equipped kitchen will have your back when it's time to feed your guests.

The main bedroom suite has a Jacuzzi and direct access to a deck with some of the most amazing views in the outer banks. This retreat's deck also offers its own private staircase directly down to the beach access. Community amenities include a sparkling outdoor pool and a private boardwalk to the beach. Come to the Island for your vacation!

Things to know:
This condo is on the first level, up to two sets of stairs, at the Islander Condominiums.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.

This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.




Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Overall good visit however we were a group of four adults and the smaller bedroom bed was just really not comfortable. I think there is an intention to make it a room for kids but when you have a second adult couple, it’s a challenge. The beds just weren’t comfortable. Also, we appreciated the new keurig but when we set it up to brew a pot, it did but the coffee came through cold and the heating plate did not get hot at all.

Not what expected.

Location was great. Beautiful sunrises. Loved watching the dolphins when we could use the deck. Was told the day before check in that the upstairs condo was getting new flooring installed. The dust and vinyl shavings made it impossible to be out on our deck while ongoing. Disappointed - better suited for an overnight stay than long term.

Great views from the balcony, private access to the beach. The unit feels dated and uninviting

The views are fantastic, and the balcony is a wonderful feature, offering convenient and easy access to the beach. However, the furniture, bathrooms, and overall aesthetic of the unit are in need of updating.

Summer Vacation

My family has been vacationing to Ocracoke Island for over 50 years. We decided to try something new this year and of course took the ferry to Ocracoke for a few days. Wolf’s Wishing Star did not disappoint! Just a perfect location with a gorgeous view of the beach. The property is very nice and clean. Being close to the pier is an added bonus and we really enjoyed the donuts/coffee at Roots and Leaves food truck which is also just around the corner! The beach wasn’t too crowded either! Wonderful memories made with my family!!!

Cleanliness

Beautiful condo, great location, cleaning service was bad. Not enough towels and the washing machine was broke and they never fixed it while we were there so no way to wash. Had to use the same towels for 7 days. Did speak with a nice lady about the cleanliness and she refunded the cleaning charge. I would still rent it again as I know the owners cannot help certain things.

End of season stay.

Had a much needed quiet relaxing stay. Really liked the location not being so busy or commercialized, access to the beach and pier were great. Very nice place to stay, hope to return again. Thank you very much.

Beautiful ocean view!

Pros: Quick/convenient access to beach (must be okay with climbing a lot of stairs). Unit is nicely decorated and tech savvy. Furniture is comfy, except for beds. Convenient location to grocery store, shops and pier. Cons: Unit needs a deep cleaning! Waited until 5PM for checkin..unit was not "fully" clean. Sand everywhere! Blinds are caked with dust and dead bugs on sills, and dust bunnies on floors. Bathrooms had roaches. Towels, bedding, and paper products are very cheap. Master bed sheets didn't fit the bed properly. Beds need new mattresses! Could feel springs on the master bed. Kitchen is very small with no extra cupboard space or pantry. Had to use the dining table for patry items. No garbage or recycling bins located near the unit. Had to schlep all trash to a dumpster along the highway. Walls are thin...could hear neighbors upstairs walking around, and other toilets flushing.

Great Experience

My husband and I were looking to getaway safely. My biggest check boxes being: on the beach where I can watch the sunrise and waves while sipping my coffee and a location that allowed for social distancing while still experiencing the sights. This location delivered! The rental was a great size for the two of us, but would have fit our children as well. The beach is mere steps away but the sounds of the ocean fill the rental even with the windows and doors closed - perfect! The location is in the middle of all the great places to shop and see. We would love to stay again.

Some issues

This is a beautiful condo with a great view and access to the ocean. The property was NOT Clean at all. There were also "Palmetto bugs" that were very large. The place needs to be fumigated for them and needs a deep cleaning.

Beautiful location, beach access immediate, views fantastic

Overall the property was as advertised and fit our expectations. The deck faced the ocean, with views of the Avon Pier to the north and nothing but water to the south. The home was well maintained, with comfortable furniture and beds. A key to the storage locker was there, where we found beach chairs and umbrellas. I have only two complaints: 1. The home was surface clean, but not deep clean. The dining room rug was very stained, and the master bath had small areas of mold on the shower curtain in the tub jets. The deck was covered in sand. We swept the first day and it was still much cleaner when we left than when arriving. 2. The deck furniture was cabled to all of the other furniture and to the deck rail, all in a row across the rear wall and blocking access to the master bedroom through the slider. This decreased its functionality, as it could be moved very little and made it impossible to have a face to face conversation with anyone else. A key provided to the renter to unlock the cable and a request to relock it when leaving would solve this issue. The location was fantastic, as it is in one of the quieter area of the islands for those looking for a more relaxed and less busy vacation. It was still easy driving distance to Nags Head and Roanoke Island for day trips. There were plenty of good restaurants around in close proximity. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Wishing Star

After going to Hatteras Realty to check in, we got to the room only to find out that it was not cleaned very well. There was food crumbs on the kitchen counter, the island and the table. It was also very sticky. It was also obvious that the floors in some of the rooms were not swept. We immediately went back to Hatteras, and were told that a crew would be sent out to clean the condo. We left to eat dinner. When we returned, the kitchen was cleaned ; however, some of the rooms were still not swept. We also discovered that we had no tv. That did not get fixed until Tuesday. We had to be in the room for Spectrum. This took from 4:00 to 7:30. Once again our vacation plans for that evening were messed up. Last, but not least, we had to deal with cockroaches. We killed several, but the last one got away the morning we left. After I got up, my husband saw one crawl across the bed. He took a picture, but was unable to catch it to kill it!

First time using VRBO - Success!

Our experience was great. Great location. Very clean. Had everything we needed (and more). The owner was very responsive when we had an internet outage (turns out it was across the town). It was very helpful to have an after-hours option to get to the property. We had a little trouble finding our condo in the dark, but I'm not sure there was anything that could be done on the owner's part. Would definitely recommend this place!

Heaven on Earth!!

Loved staying at the Wishing Star! It was in the center of everything. We could walk out the back deck and walk over the board walk and the beach was right there. The place was decorated beautifully and it felt like home. Would recommend this place to anyone else who wanted to have an ocean front view.

Great oceanfront condo for four

Great place, but it’s been refurnished to accommodate only four people now rather than six as it had in the many times we’ve stayed there in years gone by under prior ownership. Beautiful oceanfront unit with easy oceanfront access.
