"Overall, nice property and congenial hosts, who were easy to communicate with. One problem was that the municipality was working on the water lines and resulted in 4 days of 'iffy' water. Although there is a pool, it is shared with 2 other residences on the property."

"We had a marvelous time in Macerino! Our hosts were most welcoming and attentive and probably the nicest people in Italy. Our accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, with the best beds we have slept on in the whole country. It was quiet and peaceful and remote, and that was part of the appeal. We did take day trips down the mountain to visit other cities for lunch, thus avoiding driving the mountain road after dark. We ate twice at La Fontana, and both times were an exercise in gastronomic quality and plenty. Otherwise, we got our groceries in Aquasparta and shared food and wine on the roof porch.
