About this property

2 Bed in Bakewell (oc-91038)

  • This cottage is perfect for couples, families and friends wanting a country cottage retreat, right in the heart of Bakewell with the added benefit of off-road parking and a pretty, enclosed courtyard garden. Walk just 100 metres from the front door and you will reach Bakewell’s many shops, quaint cafes, pubs and restaurants. Bakewell sits on the River Wye, an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by. Chatsworth House and Gardens can be reached in under 5 miles. Famous for its rich history, historic and modern waterworks and sculptures, and its Victorian rock garden and maze, there is something for everyone in the 105-acre garden. Castleton is 13 miles away and hosts the famous Blue John stone, caverns and cave tours. Visit the picturesque Monsal Trail just 3 miles away which offers 8.5 miles of scenic walking and cycling along the former Midland Railway line.

Step into the characterful hallway with beautiful oak flooring that leads through to the lounge. Relax on the sofa in front of the Smart TV and open up the patio doors that lead onto the courtyard garden. During the winter, light the wood burner, which creates the perfect atmosphere for cosy nights by the fire. The open-plan kitchen/diner offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal; come together around the nearby dining table and enjoy a meal with good company. Head upstairs and you will find two bedrooms, each befitting from its own en-suite; the master bedroom has a dressing area and a lovely roll-top bath, while the more compact second bedroom has a double and en suite shower room.

Outside, there is a pretty enclosed courtyard with seating, a wonderful space to come back to for a glass of something chilled after a hard day hiking the hills.
