We enjoyed all the comfort and atmosphere of an old inn, but with every modern convenience. The food was superb in the restaurant, and the full breakfast was as well. The common room was a cozy area with a fire, comfortable seating, and games!

Nice, large room with a soft, comfortable bed. Good amenities, large bathroom with tub and shower. Fabulous shampoo and body wash! TV wasn't good though, pixelated on most channels. Poor reception. We had dinner and breakfast there. Both highly recommended, tasty, lots of options, delicious. Staff are marvelous! Always pleasant and helpful, despite being short staffed, they worked hard and made our visit very enjoyable! Recommended hotel and restaurant!

We loved Balmoral Arms. It was beautiful and very quaint and lovely as were the staff! We especially had a fun time in the cozy pub with an excellent dinner there also. The staff were great! We enjoyed our meal in the lovely dining room for dinner and breakfasts. Great location for seeing Balmoral Castle. Parking was very convenient!

Dated smaller rooms but it is a very old building. Dinner was excellent. Some staff were definitely on while others were confused about the menu and reservations for dinner. Common areas were old but charming and cozy.

Old hotel with character, a welcoming reception area and updated rooms. There is no elevator but we were prepared for that and our room was only up one level. The food in the bar was delicious.

Room was noisy - sounded like the water system for the whole floor was pumping until 11.30pm - started again about6.30am. Clean room but did find left over toothpaste in shower. Breakfast was low point - buffet was meagre though there was full range to order in menu. Coffee was extremely weak and the sausage sandwich they served up was abysmal- toasted sliced bread no butter and sausages looked like they’d been on a low heat for too long - all served up with graceless lack of interest! Such a contrast from where we’d had dinner in Ballater. Not sure how Balmorel Arms achieves 4 star rating.

Extremely friendly service. There is not an elevator so they will carry your luggage to your room and back down. There are no strangers at Balmoral Arms, you're treated as a very good friend. Main sitting room with a piano that even though it's out of tune --- they've tried to have it repaired several times --- people still gather and enjoy the sitting room. Would have liked to have seen a fire in the fireplace, but understand it's summertime. Breakfast & dinners were very good, and so far, the best sticky toffee pudding I've tasted when compared to other locations in Scotland.

The hotel lives up to its historical roots . The staff were friendly and cordial. The breakfast can be a bit chaotic at times.. There are no lifts so luggage has to be man handled up the stairs The hotel is well located in the centre of town and parking easy It is well worth a visit

Cosy hotel in a lovely village. The room was small but nicely decorated, clean and quiet. The social areas on the ground floor were really nice and inviting. The breakfast was a bit pale. Not much left when we arrived for breakfast at the cold buffet but there were plenty of warm alternatives on the menu.
