10/10 Excellent
"Courtyard Marriott is a beautifully decorated and furnished hotel. The quality of all the accessories, ie towels, toiletries, tea and coffee making utensils were of an exceptionally high standard. The room was spotless and very comfortable with stylish furniture and a large screen television. Ample storage and large walk in shower added to our comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast with a great choice of cereals, fruit, cheese, ham and traditional hot breakfast. Definitely recommend."

The Commercial Hotel

The Commercial Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The small village of Tarland is very quiet, so we were surprised at just how good the Commercial Hotel is. I understand that a lot of walkers & cyclists use the hotel and I'm not surprised, as it is in beautiful surroundings and only 5 miles from Aboyne. We received a very pleasant welcome, and our room was large, beautifully furnished and very quiet. Whilst we stayed for 2 nights, circumstances meant we only had breakfast although on our last evening, we saw that the restaurant was quite popular. Breakfast was special with a large choice of cook to order food and lots of tea or coffee. We will stay here again and recommend it to any one looking for a nice hotel in the area."

"We stayed in one of the offsite casa style rooms which was perfect for our family (we were parents travelling with two teenagers). Room was clean and had all we needed for our two night stay. We appreciated the afternoon scones and tea in the main hotel. We were surprised that our rooms didn’t have any housekeeping between our first and second nights so I’m not sure if that was part of the casa room service or not but our request for addition towels was taken care of quickly!"
