"Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Also enjoyed dinner in the evening. Dog friendly, so our dog could have meals with us in the bar lounge."

"Our room was beautiful and themed so a nice touch but we felt there wasn’t a relaxing seating area apart from outside but cold and windy and the bar so no cosy seats a quieter area to chill"

"The small village of Tarland is very quiet, so we were surprised at just how good the Commercial Hotel is. I understand that a lot of walkers & cyclists use the hotel and I'm not surprised, as it is in beautiful surroundings and only 5 miles from Aboyne. We received a very pleasant welcome, and our room was large, beautifully furnished and very quiet. Whilst we stayed for 2 nights, circumstances meant we only had breakfast although on our last evening, we saw that the restaurant was quite popular. Breakfast was special with a large choice of cook to order food and lots of tea or coffee. We will stay here again and recommend it to any one looking for a nice hotel in the area."
