An old gem

We loved this hotel. It was like stepping into a old 80s/90s hotel in the movies. The buttons on the display on the bedside table gave us a james bond feeling. The staff was really lovely and the rooms clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is perfect for a few days in Bangkok as you are close to several malls, the sky train and lots of restaurants.

excellent staff. wanted to order something for a friend while in Bangkok, and the lady at the front desk was kind enough to help me with the address, and then kind enough to talk to "lalamove" to confirm they had the correct information for the delivery. OUTSTANDING service! (i'm sorry- i meant to get her name, but i kept missing my chance). The porter (i believe Todsapron?-early afternoon shift) was also very helpful with luggage, questions, and getting taxis. great location and a fantastic price. larger sized room for the area. rooms could use a refresh, but hard to beat the value. would stay again.

The share head fell over and was difficult to use. There was a day when the bathroom wasn't cleaned. There were many days when slippers were not provided. No shaving facilities There is no washing machine

I didn't really want to rate this place 1 star. Unfortunately, it was like a situation that I wish no one would experience. Disclaimer: I received a full refund from Expedia and some compensation. We arrived on September 15th at midnight and are hoping to check in (check-in counter is open 24 hrs. as per the reservation details) and are very excited about this place plus I was extremely exhausted from a 23 hrs. long flight. In front of the hotel was so dark and didn't have any light and no signs..We thought we went to the wrong place. I spotted 2 people who I assumed to be security guards sitting in the dark in front of the door.. I showed them my booking for 4 days 3 nights with a prepaid amount.. One of them said..ohh! this place is not open for anyone to stay in, it is temporarily closed and under renovation..I was shocked and asked when the renovation happened.. They said a week ago, I booked this place a month before my arrival date and there was no one ever contacted me to let me know about this situation or to prepare me to book a new place to stay, I was so disappointed, exhausted, and at that time it was very difficult to find a new place to stay for 4 of us This review is neither for a discredit of the hotel nor Expedia, However, this review is for travelers who book a place (any place) in advance, pls save yourself from a situation like this, call them to make sure that your room is ready to stay in, and that the hotel exists.. Don't be like me :(
