Mountain Experience at its best!! With a massive, panoramic view, LongView is a large and spacious log cabin (2,600 sq. ft.) that is rustic and offers luxury elegance. LongView is a newly renovated and professionally decorated mountain cabin. Set in the Banner Elk subdivision of Grey Fox, a gated community, LongView is conveniently located within 5 minutes of both Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts with both offering fantastic year-round activities.

This cabin has a two-level wrap-around deck that offers numerous and various seating and dining. The decks provide a long and panoramic view of the beautiful mountains including the coveted Grandfather, Sugar, and Beech mountains.

As you enter LongView you will find a great room with a cathedral ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows offering incredible views of the mountains. Adjoining the great room is the kitchen and dining area. This living area has a large stone fireplace with gas logs and a brand new 60” Smart HDTV and Dish Satellite over the mantel. Comfortable leather furniture completes the space. The Master Bedroom is on the main level and comes with a King bed, 55” Smart HDTV and private bathroom. Also on the main level is a 1/2 bath, laundry room, and pantry.

Upstairs provides a loft with a queen bed and another master bedroom with a King bed, 55” Smart HDTV and private bathroom.

Downstairs offers another bedroom with a King bed and two bunk beds. This also adjoins a full bathroom. Downstairs also provides another large Den/Rec room furnished with a large, comfortable sectional sofa (great for watching movies or relaxing after a day on the slopes), and 60” Smart HDTV with Dish Satellite.

You’ll love LongView because of the fantastic panoramic views, beautiful decorations and rustic mountain feel, 3 king beds with accommodations for 12, four large screen TVs, dual family areas, two-level deck, and fire pit. LongView is good for couples, families (with kids), business travelers, and groups. Our place is close to mountains, waterfalls, rivers and lakes, hiking and biking trails, golf, restaurants, horseback riding, wineries, skiing, tubing, sledding, whitewater rafting, and more.

This is a perfect location for all the High Country has to offer. Whether you want to ski, hike or sit on the deck and enjoy the view, LongView is as good as it gets! Everything is new, clean and much attention has been given to every detail.

Spring get away

Great weather, close to ski slopes, fun time. Perfect location for an amazing view. Loved Fred’s Mercantile nearby. We enjoyed seeing the many deer in the neighborhood. We loved the security of a gated community and the privacy of the area. The house is beautiful with comfortable beds, and gas logs were fantastic. We made some good memories.

Amazing property with gorgeous views

We trully enjoyed our stay here! Fantastic property and views. You can also take a gorgeous walk by taking the road that goes through the community and get to the green fields to enjoy sunset. Will be coming back!

This is a beautiful property in a great location! Excellent view. It is very clean and has a well-equipped kitchen. Large, comfy living spaces! Plenty of room for a large group to spread out too! We will be back.

Comfortable home, well stocked kitchen, beautiful views, great location. Host was very responsive. Steep driveway that you have to stack cars in to is tricky if you have comings and goings, but very manageable. Lovely experience

Breathtaking views/ Beautiful property

Everything was perfect from beginning to end. We had everything that we needed and more. Would 110% recommend this property. It was in a great location with lots to do. Kitchen was very well equipped and the hot tub was exceptional!!! The furnishings were beautiful. Long View well named

We were drawn to the property because of the three king bedrooms. Lots of space for all. We really enjoyed the excellent view from the deck for morning coffee and evening meals. The water has a bit of a metallic taste that may be mitigated with the water filter but it was not operating. We would definitely rent this home again.

Great house. Great space for kids.

Great house to stay with a great view. Will most likely be back if we visit this area again. Only issue that needs to be addressed is the fan in the master bedroom on the main floor. It vibrates a lot and needs to be replaced.

Great stay

Great property in a great location with wonderful view. We were a larger group with three generations of adults. The lower level family room and deck were nice as they provided extra space from the main living area for folks to get a little quiet time. Having a master with en-suite on the main floor was nice for our older family members who did not have to use the stairs. Hot tub was not working which was a big disappointment since it was one of our top desired features. Great place

WONDERFUL!

My family and our my in-laws stayed here for a belated Christmas slash Winter Retreat. The big window provided a beautiful, picturesque, view of the mountains and landscape. All the rooms were wonderfully appointed, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was supplied with ample amounts of cooking pots/pans for our family that loves cooking. John, the owner, was great in handling a minor issue we had very quickly. He's got other properties also that we'll definitely be looking into renting at a future time. Our three families highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a tranquil escape within close proximity to Beech Mtn and the town of Banner Elk.

Unbeatable View! Great Hot Tub! Plenty Of Space!

We had a great weekend in Long View! The view is unbeatable! It's hard to find a view this amazing. It was a great cabin... I loved the rustic look of everything. The decor was perfect because i wanted the "mountain cabin experience." The kids loved the down stairs. The bear pillows and fur blankets on the bunk beds where cute! My 5 year old loved those! My daughter enjoyed the loft bed. All the king beds where huge and super comfy. (I have a king bed at home but these beds felt a twin size larger than mine!) I loved the super thick comforter in the upstairs bedroom. Huge tvs in both upper bedrooms. All the furniture was very rustic and themed which I loved! From the bedside tables to the floor boards, everything is luxury mountain cabin vibes! The porch could use a little sprucing up but the rocking chairs are really nice and the view out there is so worth it! I could look off the porch all day. We saw 2 deer during our weekend stay. We used the fire pit and the view is incredible there too. I thought that was so neat sitting by the fire with panoramic views! The hot tub was sooo good! Very hot and strong jets! The lights above the hot tub where a nice touch a night. My teenagers had the best time in the hot tub. All appliances worked great... we used the grill, stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer. (All appliances are newer and very nice) The stove has 2 separate ovens. The huge Samsung tvs where a hit. I loved that we could all watch a movie together from anywhere in the great room. (Kitchen, dinning room, living room) It sounds like your at the movies with surround sound because of giant room. It was nice to eat around the table and either watch a movie or admire the mountain view. All the bedrooms are on separate floors so it gives some separation from the kids. Also, the bunkbeds/king bed room is downstairs with a second living area and a bathroom, so it's a great space for teens/ children or a whole second family. The bathrooms where really nice and water pressure was good. There are 3 bathrooms and a half bath. John was just a text away. I didn't have any issues but he checked in a few times and responded immediately. This is a beautiful cabin! I would love to have stayed in the winter to use the fireplace! I would definitely stay at Long View again!!

This is our second year at Longview. Everything is clean and well organized. The well equipped kitchen, large dining table , and deck dining make meals a breeze. Longview is a perfect place for extended families. We will be back!

Good Family Getaway

Pretty, well appointed home. Our group of 11 enjoyed the two living spaces and the nice kitchen. Beautiful views from the porch! We got the snow we were hoping for, too! Dining room chairs and downstairs bunk beds were rickety, need some attention. Matresses on 3 king beds not in great shape. Overall, with a few tweaks, a very nice place to stay.

Know before you go

On our first day we found stinky decayed dead mice on a sticky board beneath a table in the main room. Messaged the host. "John, we arrived just after 2:30 PM. Everything smooth. Decided to brush up on a little putting game I have and the ball went underneath the credenza. Looking under to retrieve my ball found these two dead mice on a sticky board decayed and odiferous. I have the photo here to send you, but I do not know how.to attach it. I have disposed of them, but frankly shocked." His answer: Message from the host "Bryan, I am sorry you found those. To be honest, they are very common in the mountains. We have six homes up here and all six of them are treated A-1 pest control. it seems like no matter what you do they still find a tiny crank or an open door to get in. Please accept my apologies for this unpleasant experience. I will contact the pest control company tomorrow. " Not what I was expecting and insultingly condescending. Also, you need to know this property is stairs and stairs. It's not a bad place but best for young families or teens. The dead mice incident, which from the decayed corpses indicated they had been there a long time, and the cavalier response would dissuade me from any of this host's properties. The property is, however, well-decorated and has a lovely view from the deck. This is only my experience. I have stayed at VRBOs in the US and Virgin Islands and have had many good experiences in the past, and we prefer VRBOs.

Senior ladies birthday trip

We had a wonderful time. Loved this place. Our only compliant was lack of soap to wash hands.there was no dish soap to hand wash dishes. The house was very centrally located to everything.
