"This small hotel is in a perfect location on the edge of Old San Juan. You can walk anywhere and avoid the endless stream of cars going into the Old city. Some people complained of noise but our room was quiet and lovely. The restaurant on the roof is fantastic ( get the ceviche). If we had stayed in one of the big hotels away from the old city it would have been a completely different experience. Definitely visit the forts and the Museum of the Americas is a gem. "

"We loved our stay at Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar! This was a warm weather vacation with our 1.5 year old. We had a one bedroom villa and it was the perfect set up for a busy toddler. We had lots of space for him to run around, a full kitchen, black out curtains and space for us parents to relax during nap/bed time! The property is beautiful and we loved the pools and beach. One pool is 1ft deep so great for little ones. The onsite Mahi Mahi beach grill was reasonably priced with good food and drinks. Also had 2 high chairs available. Would recommend renting a car so you can also do some exploring in Dorado and meals out if you want. Grocery stores are nearby so you can also have food on hand in your room. "

"Omg what a beautiful and zany place! I would say that although the experience had a lot of downsides, the upsides were so unique that you need to stay here at least for a night (or two). Maybe not 4 nights like I did - that was a bit much. The place is bursting at the seams with art, plants, and parrots. Most of the buildings look like they’re from the 1600s to 1800s. I had two large shutters that needed to be closed with a wooden bar. And my room was down a flight of stairs - inside the room. But you need to be careful - one time I forgot that there was no landing - that the top step was immediately upon opening the door - and almost fell down. My room was facing the dining area courtyard - where there was live music every day from 6 to 12 AM. There was also a sort of balcony right under my window - with two tables and 8 chairs. They were actually part of the dining area, but few people came up there. I only had to climb out the window and was essentially on my private balcony, enjoying the music downstairs. But be careful what you wish for - 4 nights of nonstop music can get to be a bit much. One night, the piano (which was also digital) kept playing music by itself until past 12 AM - until I got an employee to shut it off. Speaking of employees - the bartender at Nico’s Rooftop was extremely surly. I would give him a wide berth. Other issues: No face cloths in the room for 3 of the 4 nights. No tea kettle, cups, tea, or water in the rooms. Broken lamp. Generally dark."

"Historic property so everything isn’t new looking, but beautiful place. The bathrooms had some rusting and residue, I will say I did not like that the little blind to my room was open so anyone could see straight into my room of walking by "
