Absolutely perfect relaxing lakefront house in every way! The bed was very comfortable, the relaxation areas were great, the fan really helped cool things off and the windows brought in just enough cool mountain air and the sound of the loons! The kitchen was also ideal. The location was spectacular, the views and the sunsets were not to be missed and an easy 10 minute drive into town with a good selection of restaurants and markets. This place in the summer is incredible but we are just as excited to take a look at this place in the Fall as well! These were the most incredible hosts we have ever dealt with, so accommodating, and so nice And they truly make this experience one of a kind! Run don’t walk to this unforgettable lakeside getaway!!!

Perfect spot for relaxation

This lakeside cottage in the mountains of northwest Vermont is great for a relaxing escape. Located on Daniels Pond, a small picturesque lake, there is a rowboat and canoe for enjoying the water, or you can take in the view from the dock, in the beautiful back yard with a hammock, or from inside on the porch. Sunsets are spectacular. The cottage is well-appointed and comfortable, and the hosts truly go above and beyond to take care of everything for your stay. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in the country with outdoor activities.

Relax, reconnect and rejuvenate describes it perfectly

We had a wonderful time at this property. We biked, swam and walked every day. It was so peaceful and quiet it provided a perfect environment to completely relax. Kristi and Ed were amazing hosts. They made every effort to make sure our stay was excellent . The kitchen was well stocked, there was lots of information on things to do and the house was very comfortable. The last night we were there Kristi brought us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. And when we arrived there were gifts at that end as well. Kristi checked in frequently to make sure we were OK, and Ed stopped by to get the trash and was very welcoming. We could not have asked for a better stay.

Unwind and recharge

This property was perfect for our adult family. We were looking for a place in which we could exercise and spent time together. This efficient, comfortable cottage is located on back dirt roads that we spent time exploring on our bikes and on foot. The minimal car traffic and beautiful surrounding nature was a daily treat. Swimming, canoeing, and resting in the hammock at sunset while the loons swam— perfect, private and quiet with no loud motor boats to distract from the peaceful property. The cottage has comfortable beds and has everything you could need to cook meals together, unwind and enjoy your vacation. Hosts Kristi and Ed are engaged in your stay take a genuine role in making sure you are comfortable. This property gets a strong thumbs up from all of us (5 adults.)

Northeast Kingdom Delight

We spent a delightful 9 days at this lovely cottage in Glover Vermont. The cottage is charming, cozy and right on the water on Daniels Pond. The view from the lake is amazing- we watched the foliage turn daily on the lovely mountain on the lake. The cottage had everything we could ask for in a vacation setting. A modern, well equipped kitchen with plenty of essential provisions. However, the best part of our stay was meeting Kristi and Ed, two lovely hosts who love the Northeast Kingdom and were so helpful in giving us great recommendations for walks, restaurants and activities in the community. Kristi welcomed us with wine and treats and even provided a sweet ending of chocolate covered strawberries for our return home. What a pleasure to stay at their lovely property and spend some time with these great Vermonters!

NEK Getaway

We were looking for a place to getaway after my daughter's wedding and found the perfect location. Even though the weather wasn't warm and sunny, we made the most of our time as the cottage was close to many of our favorite hiking trails. It was also close to a few nice restaurants as we wanted to dine out. We paddled on several lakes and ponds where we experienced several sightings of loons and bald eagles. Daniel's Pond quickly became our favorite. The cottage was cozy, clean and we had everything we were looking for or needed. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with privacy provided by the landscaping from the other camps. The hosts were responsive, informative and gracious. It was a delight to vacation in my home state and enjoy what many tourists come to Vermont for.

The cottage was quaint pond frontage place with a great view of Daniel's Pond. It is a nice quiet neighborhood with very friendly people. The cottage was well stocked with all cooking and baking utensils, pleasant and comfortable furnishings. The owners K&E went out of thier way to accommodate our party with overflow parking at thier house. We were welcomed into thier cottage with a basket of goodies, a bottle of wine and they capped off our stay with going away thank you dessert. They checked on us via personal visits and/or text message to be sure we had everything we needed and to see if there were any issues with the cottage. I would not hesitate to rent this cottage again from K&E.

A Getaway Cottage is lovely

A Getaway Cottage is all that is listed for the property and then some. This lakefront cottage is in a central eastern VT location for day trip experiences but, with the attractive comforts of the cottage and property and the beauty of Daniels Pond, you may not want to leave. Owners, Kristi and Ed, were delightful and went way above and beyond in making sure everything about our stay was carefree and to our liking. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed the rowboat, sitting on or fishing from the peaceful dock, rocking on the lakeside porch rocker, and even playing one of the provided games. On the practical side, we note the cottage was very well stocked with base supplies, including full kitchen, had comfortable beds, and tasteful cottage decor...fully designed for an easy lakeside retreat. We hope to return to experience all the seasons in this beautiful NEK location. Many thanks to our hosts for providing such a charming place for a relaxing getaway.

Delightful Hiatus, great biking and canoeing! Immaculately maintained property

This was remote, deep in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. If you like dirt road biking and walking, this is nirvana. If you like driving back roads and encountering sweeping vista after sweeping vista, ditto. The weather was cool, the pond even more so as we went for our morning swims. It is a quiet pond, no power boats and well-observed quiet hours from 9-9. That was JUST what we wanted and we got it. The house itself is super comfortable and the yard works well. It feels private with hedges and is. There are so many details that Kristi and Ed fulfill - a welcome basket to get started, well-equipped kitchen, even binoculars to locate the Loons and Bald Eagles. VT is tough on manmade features like docks, grills and outdoor furniture, but Kristi and Ed maintain everything to perfection. This is a cozy, peaceful place. Can't recommend it enough. And can't wait until we can get ourselves back to the Kingdom!

A Getaway Gem

We only had a short stay, but truly enjoyed every minute at this lovely Getaway cottage. Firstly, this is a sparkling clean cottage and we felt especially comfortable with the owner’s attention to cleanliness and the COVID-19 procedure. Second, everything you would ever need on a vacation is at the cottage, from the kitchen to vacation comforts (grill, outdoor seating, hammock, quiet boats). Lastly, the location is so peaceful, the loon calls only added to gentle quiet of the area. Next time we visit we will bring our bikes (hybrids) to ride along the road circling Daniel’s Pond. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our morning jog/walks just as much as we would have enjoyed biking, We casually toured this laidback NE Vermont region, taking in several hikes in the Nature Conservancy area , state parks and the trails set in a few local towns. By the way, the WiFi is excellent, and if you use WiFi calling you will be fine with your phone. (The owners are so nice to supply a regular landline, just in case someone had an emergency). We are already trying to figure out when we can come back to this little gem. We actually live very rurally ourselves, but found getting away from our “getaway home” to another “getaway cottage” was just what we needed. Loved it!

Welcoming place in a sweet location

Kristi and Ed are very attentive hosts who were communicative throughout the booking process and stay. When we arrived, they introduced us to their property which included a welcome gift basket of foods and chilled wine in the refrigerator for us. Kristi and Ed were more than gracious and willing to aid us in any way to make our stay more comfortable. The cottage was very clean and neat. The cottage’s kitchen was as well stocked as many home kitchens with dishes, basic spices, cooking utensils, toaster, coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, pots, and pans, etc. The beds were comfortable. The shower curtain looked new and fresh. We appreciated the thoughtful toiletries in the bathroom for guests. During our stay we squeezed in watching the Women’s Final Four game which looked great on their large television, and had time for a board game that their table easily accommodated. The highlight of our time in Vermont was leaving the cottage for a time to meet up with friends who had also traveled to Vermont to watch the eclipse. The Moon and Sun did not disappoint! What an absolute treat! But, back to the cottage… If you are looking for a clean cottage, with attentive hosts, on a quiet pond, on a dirt road with other cottages nearby, where there is a good pizza place (Parker’s Pie) within a drivable distance, then this could definitely be your spot. Thank you to Kristi and Ed for your hospitality and for sharing your little slice of Vermont with us. We are appreciative.

Nice Country Vacation

Overall, our experience at the "Getaway Cottage" was very relaxing and enjoyable. The cottage is located on a beautiful and peaceful pond with no motor boat traffic whatsoever (a rare find in Vermont). The lakefront is well appointed with Adirondack chairs and a hammock and one can spend many happy hours here reading, resting and watching the sun set. The cottage is located in the middle of miles of picturesque country and near many interesting and friendly small towns with everything you need. Its hard to beat that combination if you want a relaxing yet stimulating getaway. The size and depth of Daniels Pond makes it well suited to a refreshing dip, which is all that most people may want. Deeper and longer swims can be had right down the road at Shadow Lake or at the clear, exceptionally weed-free Crystal Lake in nearby Barton. Extras outside include the canoe and rowboat. There's also a large propane grill, though it will require a good cleaning before use. The interior of the cozy, shady cottage is both charmingly rustic and exceptionally clean. All beds are comfortable, as are the sofa and two reclining arm chairs in the living room. Basic seating on the porch is good for a brief recline and view of the pond, before heading outside for a longer session in the comfortable waterfront chairs or hammock. The hosts provided many personal touches to enhance the visit. Kristi was always friendly and available for questions or help if needed. Thank you Kristi and Ed!

Vermont: my new happy place

This was the most magical stay I could've hoped for. It was our first time visiting Vermont and I'm pretty sure we're spoiled now. Warm and welcoming, the property and owners were absolutely wonderful. The house actually felt like a home, as it should, so we were able to completely relax. Who knew foliage and northern lights peak at the same time. We had the pleasure of witnessing both over the pond. It was so easy to unwind and unplug, but the wifi was so strong I could also reconnect whenever I needed to get a little work done. This is the perfect place to truly get away and officially my new happy place.

Labor Day Weekend

This delightful cottage on Daniel’s Pond is fresh, clean and comfortable – and magical! On one of our canoe paddles, we sat for several minutes watching a great blue heron waiting for its lunch. The sunset reflected from the pond with magnificent pink and red radiance. Our hosts Kristi and Ed were beyond welcoming.

Daniels Pond

We were greatly pleased by this camp, owned by Kristi and Ed Bride. Beautifully located on the shore of Daniels Pond, it is very complete in every respect, including drinkable well water, heat, full views of the pond, quiet (side road), fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, Dish TV, washer and dryer, first floor master bedroom, lakeside dock, privacy from adjacent properties, etc. Access to the loft (3 beds) is by spiral staircase, and can be a bit daunting for seniors. All in all, a most delightful camp.

Perfect Cabin in Perfect Spot

This cabin was just right for our family getaway! The location could not be better: right on beautiful Daniels Pond. Kristi met us on the first day to make sure we were all settled in. Fall for Vermont

The cottage is lovely and the hosts are even lovelier! They provided lots of reading material about the vicinity, and they are personally well-versed in things to do in the area. The kitchen and bath are well-equipped; there are many seating areas inside and outside on the nicely groomed yard. The location on the pond is perfect. We hope to make visiting "Getaway Cottage" a part of our regular travel schedule!

Daniels

We enjoyed our stay by peaceful and beautiful Daniel's Pond. The cottage is just as described, comfortable and perfect for relaxation by the water. The hammock is a must for reading or a nap. We only left for occasional store run or for Parker's Pie (also 5 stars). Our hosts were welcoming and attentive. We'd love to return someday!
