Upon arrival, my husband had to clean the barbecue before cooking our dinner, one of the blinds fell off the window and the hot water ran out but it was the bedding on offer that was the biggest disappointment. Not one mattress was comfortable and even the kids asked to sleep on the couch. The location was good and we fell in love with Barwon Heads. We will definitely be back but not to Veuve cottage.
We loved our stay at this property
Plenty of room for visiting family and friends beautiful yard with BBQ and outdoor eating area overall very happy
And will be back again when visiting Victoria in the the near future

Family holiday
House was spacious and tidy. Walk to town for our older guests was a little far but manageable. Overall a nice stay.

Great holiday property
Veuve Cottage provides all your needs for a beach holiday. Lots of positives about this property. It is a great location, very comfortable and is a perfect set up for either, couples, families or friends and of course 4 legged family members, which is always a bonus! We would definitely stay there again.
We loved our short getaway, fantastic spot, opposite beautiful walking dog friendly trails tennis, and amazing playground/skate parks for kids. A short walk into town has great restaurants. Ideal location, but don't forget the aeroguard!!!
The property was perfect for our family getaway, my children, their partners and grandchildren. Perfect location, plenty of room, 2 living areas great. Outdoor areas great and very well equipped kitchen. Would love to come back next year.

Lovely home with every comfort catered for
We loved our stay and hope to return one day. Our dog enjoyed the yard and the beautiful parklands straight across the road. Great house that exceeded all expectations. We would thoroughly recommend to others looking to stay in Barwon Heads.
Veuve Cottage is a lovely relaxing holiday house, spacious, warm and comfortable, with additions such as trampoline, outdoor fire pit, large BBQ, swing pod chair and outdoor dining and entertaining area. Kristiana was very helpful and is keen to ensure that all goes well with your stay at Veuve Cottage.
It is close to parks and children play grounds and easy walk to central Barwon Heads shops and cafes.
We enjoy our stay at Veuve Cottage and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay at Barwon Heads.

Barwon Veuve suited our holiday plans very well and is in a great location close to to the beach and opposite the nature reserve. It has a very well equipped kitchen and the BBQ was clean. The house wasn't as clean as I would expect. The oven tray in the oven was obviously not cleaned after its last use and a number of the pans were dirty and needed to be washed before use. No dishcloths, sponges or dish brushes were provided so we needed to purchase. There was a large piece of chewing gum adhered to the top of the outdoor table which I had to scrape off before setting which was pretty disgusting actually (can provide photo).I suggest the house needs some TLC - the exhaust fan cover in the main bathroom fell off and hit my son on the head while he was showering. The light switch in that bathroom is broken and meant we couldn't switch off the light. The toilet seat in the back bathroom does not stay up.

Great Dog Friendly accommodation
This property is ideal for those who want a getaway with pets. It has a good backyard that is fully enclosed but I would take a bike lock or similar as the rear gate latch is a nail with piece of string. A boisterous dog may push its way thru. The front gate could also use an additional lock as well. The interior is great with ample space for all and you feel very much at home. Heating within the premises is good however the fire box is old and not as efficient as it could be. There was an abundance of wood. Having said that there are two split systems that warm the house sufficiently. We recommend this accommodation to pet owners!!

pleasant
we enjoyed our stay , property was a bit weathered old , location 14 min walk to main strip. the property didnt supply any soap for showering or shampoo , also propety needed a good clean , plates in the cupboards were dirty , cob webs in most rooms, kitchen sink had spiders in it . barbeque was filthy , we had to clean the house for a couple of hours before we enjoyed our stay . if nyou going to charge those prices it needs to b at least clean . very dusty , pillow cussion were all stained . couldnt use the waldrobe in one room to much rubish in it . house also smelt of closure . this property needs maintaining , sorry would not recomend it to others
Great space for families with a beautiful front lounge room, a great kid-friendly rear living area, many beds and two great private and enclosed spaces in the front and back yard, one with a nice firepit. Both yard spaces safe for young kids as they can be closed off with gates. The Veuve in the kitchen is a sight to behold!
We had some minor cleanliness issues that I think may just have been missed and will be fixed for the next guests. We also found that the high chair in the listing wasn't there, but on enquiring Marisa had one delivered to us in under an hour on Christmas Eve no less! Amazing service.
A note that we didn't quite find the room configuration as we expected, but we may have misread the listing. For clarity, there are two queen beds, two pairs of single bunk beds, a single bed and a fold out couch.
Overall a great place for our two young families, would stay again.
Fantastic house for families (and multiple families) to stay together. Great space, inside and out, for kids to play. The gated driveway ensures you always know they are safe.
Plenty of room for grown ups to relax and socialise when the kids are napping/sleeping.
Everything was easy and made for a great long weekend.
Great location to enjoy with family and fur family
This humble abode met all our needs as a family of 7. It was comfortable and location was in a lovely spot. It helped having the two bathrooms and had plenty of space for our fur baby to play. We were also able to have our cars and motobikes secured behind gates. Bowan Heads itself is a beautiful place to explore and we would definitely come back again.
The property was ideal for the size of our group and our large but gentle dog. Marisa was communicative and accommodating with arranging linen at short notice and also in allowing us a late check out which we appreciated. All the facilities that we needed were present in the house.
Our family had a lovely break in this beautiful house. Well equipped with everything you could need (& more!). Cozy by the fire - inside & outside! We will definitely be back!
Great place to stay with a group and would easily stay here again.
Need to be aware no complimentary toiletries provided so pack your soap. Also doonas are more summer weight ones. Fire pit was well used. Great place if you’ve packed for it. Will easily go back again.
A large, child-friendly back area. Front area has a kind of old-Melbourne tiki chic. It's much better than it look on the website. The owner is super-helpful.
