"Checking in was not a good experience. Desk attendant was a little rude when we tried to check in 15 minutes before 4 pm. The exterior of the property is very run down. Our room was between two rooms that obviously have residents who live there full time. When we got to our room it was spacious and clean. We did sleep well and the price was very reasonable. It gives credence to the old adage, "You get what you pay for." I probably would not stay there again. It served it's purpose for a one night's stay."

"The staff was helpful and friendly and so was the cleaning staff. Good location to downtown and restaurants. The breakfast area was a bit unorganized especially the microwave which was below the refrigerator. For the price it was good."

"The hotel is very old and has had an upgrade. The views of the lake are beautiful. The hotel is outside of Watkins Glen on the highway. Sadly our television did not work when we arrived and could not be fixed. We were given the option of changing rooms and then found out the room had not been serviced. We were in a suite with a kitchen but no implements, glassware, crockery etc at all in the kitchen and no tissues."

"Beautiful views, unfortunately stayed Monday and Tuesday evenings when their restaurant was closed, as are most in the area."

"Unacceptable breakfast buffet. No hot foods, no yogurt, dry old cereal. Coffee was TERRIBLE- instant coffee from a machine. Pillows were very old as were the sheets, they were very worn and would not stay on a mattress. Toilet was out in middle of floor, seat would not stay on. We had to go and buy our own pillows at Walmart. Owners are frugal and the condition of the hotel reflects it. Very disappointing."
