Hotel Hermosa

"Was perfect for what we needed. Road trip from AZ for some waves over Fall break. Views of the Ocean, about a mile to Pier and beach! In that respect it's awesome and for what we paid in October was a great value. The building is older and a bit run down but interior is updated, inviting with great wall art. You feel like you are in Hermosa. Most of the poor reviews I read are true, you're on PCH and Sepulveda so busy street and I'm sure loud if your room is on that side. Walls are thin so lots of loud self-closing room doors that start slamming at 5:30am to when we get up at 10:00am. I'm sure if the hotel is full, you'll hear plenty of neighbors. Building and rooms have funky layouts but part of the charm for us. We had Baja room with spiral staircase to loft king bed and pullout couch below. Two patios, upstairs very small but views of the ocean and sunset. Again, perfect for the 3 of us with a teen on the pull-out couch. High windows can't be shaded so if you want black out bring a sleep mask. No fan in bathroom so it gets hot and humid. We just left the door open during showers. AC which is great, but individual units are loud and go on and off often for short periods of time. Again, an older building. Staff and cleaning crew very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast not included but options in lobby until 11:00am. Multiple food options and high-end grocery store across the street. Surf shop next door made for some great souvenir T shirts."

"We had a great stay. Staff was super friendly and room was great. Pool was out of service for maintenance but that was communicated up front before we booked and again at check in. We were given an alternate hotel pool that we could use within walking distance. Minor pool construction noise during the day but very quiet at night. Walking distance to several restaurants and piers. Definitely would stay here again."
