Penhook Hideaway at Smith Mountain Lake

"We would most likely stay there again if we decide to go back to Smith Mountain Lake, which is a beautiful lake by the way. The deck and the downstairs patio were wonderful places to sit and look at the lake and just enjoy the overall peace. The house worked really well for us - well equipped, a variety of bed sizes and rooms. The downstairs couch is super comfortable for watching TV together at night. I really enjoyed having the kayaks. Easy slope to the water as some of the houses have a lot of steep steps to get down to the water and this one did not. The location is on the quieter side of the lake, which makes it nice when you’re in the water as it’s not very busy. And there still is a Mexican restaurant nearby which we liked and a food mart for last minute needs . Our family had a really nice time on the lake. The outdoor fireplace is also a nice enjoyment for s’mores night! We felt very comfortable there."

"It is our second summer in a row at this property at Smith Mountain Lake. Everyone enjoyed being at the house again. The kids loved swimming in the pool and eating smores. The location is very peaceful but still well located near the state park, grocery store and marina. Thanks for another wonderful stay."

"Everything was as stated. The 10 of us had plenty of room to spread out. We were able to launch the boat and dock it at the house. Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. House was much more stocked than we expected. Great family vacation. Thanks so much"

"What a GREAT property! Family vacation was wonderful fishing off dock, relaxing by fire or in hot tub or cooling off in the lake and kayaking the lake. Inside had room for everyone to spread out and yet eat as a family in oversized kitchen with island and seating for 6 plus open concept dining that provided seating for 8. Evenings in game room playing cards, shuffleboard and a kids kitchen for the little one. Host was accessible when needed and check-in was smooth and simple. Home exceeded our hopes."

"Fun Spot is a fantastic property for families at SML. The house is quite large with all the amenities and supplies you need including fully outfitted kitchen, lots of toys for kids and adults, large dock with plenty of places to sit and so many balconies with a view. We had a marvelous vacation here. Highly recommend!!"
