"I stayed at the Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall in November 2025, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. There was no hot water during my entire stay, and management did not provide any updates or a timeline for when it would be fixed. Why stay at a hotel if you can’t even take a proper shower? They offered to cancel customers' reservations without penalty, but where am I supposed to go last-minute and pay extra? The cleanliness was also unacceptable -- the nightstand was sticky, the bed sheets had brown/black stains, and the bathroom was unkept, with toothpaste marks on the faucet and a tub that wouldn’t drain. These problems are easily fixed. There was an odd aroma throughout the room. Overall, the room felt neglected and poorly maintained. I expected far better from a Sonesta. I would not recommend this property until the management addresses these maintenance and housekeeping issues."

Super professional, polite, friendly staff. Comfy and clean beds; bathroom in good repair. Made god use of the functional in-suite kitchenette with coffee pot, cooktop, and dorm-size fridge, as well as plates/bowls/flatware/etc. Excellent value for the price. Will definitely book again and refer friends/family."
