"The rooms are a little outdated. What they did over in our bathroom, ie the tile shower, there was still grout smeared on the floors and this isn’t recent. Parking expensive and not included in your hotel fees. Restaurants including the market place store very expensive. The views are incredible, the staff very friendly and there’s a lot of history in this old hotel. Worth at least one visit"

"Room was clean and very nice. Parking was easy. We walked to a concert at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center. Would definitely stay again for downtown Asheville visits/events."

"We booked a room in the corner to face the city in order to avoid all of the noise from the highway on the other side of the building. Unfortunately, we got exactly what we were trying to avoid: A room on the third floor close to traffic on the highway and extremely noisy. We were informed because it was a third party booking, the information provided must have been inaccurate and they would not honor it. Also, they overbooked king size bed rooms. Otherwise, we thought the hotel was very nice and the corner room is nice and roomy. Our only complaint on the breakfast buffet is the food is not heated properly once out and the food tended to be cold. "

"Breakfast was a not-quite continental offering, but not off of what I was expecting. It's a motel, so the air conditioner was a wall mounted unit, mine was off when I checked in close to midnight but seemed to come and do fine during the night. Staff were efficient. Overall, exactly was I was looking for as a place to crash between a party and going home."

"The house is beautiful, filled with vintage/ antique furniture. Very nice updated bathrooms. Kitchen updated and modern, very nice and fully equipped. Huge, very nice porch. Perfect for morning coffee or relaxing and hanging out. The house is filled with Knick knacks that were covered in dust. The window sills, covered in dust. Even dishes on open shelves in kitchen. Furnishings and bedding clean. We didn’t use the hot-tub because it was really dirty on the outside and surrounding it. We did not open it so I can’t speak to the water itself. The advertisement says it sleeps 14 but I’d say only 8 adults comfortably. There are 4 varying sized bedrooms with king size beds and each has its own bathroom. The ad also states there is parking for 6-8 vehicles but really only 4. What it does not tell you is that the bottom floor of the home has permanent renters in it. There were 8 women in our group. We had a great long weekend in Asheville. The house is only a short drive to downtown. Host was very responsive."
