"We spent a week on Sunset point houseboat and already can’t wait to return! The house is exactly as described, an older house boat with lots of charm and amazing views from every bedroom. The snorkeling under the house is excellent. Ride the tides down to the shipwreck and explore all the fish swimming around in the big rusty steel hull and you will not be disappointed. You’re in very convenient distance to the airport and the town of fresh Creek. The hosts live right next-door behind trees, and they were helpful, but not intrusive at all. Keeping in touch by text was very easy if we had any questions. It was a great time chatting with them and hearing about the island — super cool couple. Peter is also an accomplished chef and made us the best anniversary meal. I highly recommend a meal from him during your stay.A few things to consider before booking this place, this is not a luxury accommodation, it is humble and comfortable and practical. Be sure to bring lots of bug repellent and sunscreen as it’s hard to come by them on the island. The a/c in the bedrooms is excellent, while you enjoy the breezes and multiple fans in the public areas. Every room has its own porch and they’re pretty private from each other. We saw tons of fish just watching with binoculars from the upper level. Unique! Also if you are a dog person, you will be in heaven because the owners have a very sweet dog, Honey who will hang out with you as much as you like. I cried when I had to hug her goodbye. "
Tranquility Blue: Private island experience. 20 yards from ocean.
10/10 Excellent
"Great kitchen, good beds. If you want to lay around in a lovely setting, catch bonefish (with guide), snorkel, spear fish (Hawaiian sling only), eat great Bahamian fish stew (Deanna’s), this is the place. Laid back wonderful community of Bahamians, this location, right on theMiddle Bught of Andros Island, is 15-20 minutes to good bone fishing. The fabulous westside of Andros is only 45 minutes away, unlike the Behring Point-Cargill Creek area, which is an hour and 45 minutes away from the west side by boat. Highly recommended."
"What a gem! We came to Andros in pursuit of bonefish and this property was the perfect jump off. The house truly exceeded our expectations in convenience, cleanliness, and amenities!
Noteables:
It was really nice to just go out back and swim after a long day of bonefishing.
Being able to wash your clothes allowed us to pack less clothes and more fishing gear.
An outside shower made it super easy to rinse down the equipment. We then let it all air dry in the screened porch.
Having a little convenience store and an excellent restaurant (Brigadiers) within walking distance made things easier.
Lastly, the host was so gracious and responsive throughout the entire process. When we had to make a flight change, she went above and beyond in helping us get it rebooked.
Looking forward to coming back and stay here again!"
"The property is well-maintained and easy to find. It gets fantastic sea breezes, which keep the cottage feeling fresh and cool throughout the day. Both bedrooms have heat pumps, which made for comfortable sleeping even on warmer nights. The beach right outside is beautiful, and once the stairs and seawall are repaired, access will be even better. During our stay, we just had to take a short walk around a neighboring property to reach the beach, which wasn’t a problem at all.Just a heads-up: the listing mentions in-cabin laundry, but it’s actually located at a nearby laundromat. That said, all the essentials (wifi, tv, fridge, kettle, microwave, and stove) were in great working condition. The shower also had strong water pressure, which was a nice bonus.Overall I would recommend this as a place to relax and unwind."
"Great location on the edge of the sea. Well supplied, quite spacious. Convenient parking space. Good owner comms. Helpful. Would happily stay again. "
"What an amazing throw back trip.
I grew up going to my parents house on mangrove cay.
Many things have changed and many thing are the same!
My daughter, husband and my grandchildren loved every minute!
We swam, snorkeled and slowed down to island life behavior!
Any negatives were manageable….we needed a decent broom to keep up with the sand coming in😀!
There was very limited cleaning stuff for us to clean up after cooking etc.
Overall, I would return tomorrow if I. Old!
Finn…..thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
I will send pics when I get organized!
Enjoy your heaven on earth!
Fondly,
Karen
