"The apartment is charming, atop the watchtower in a restored mill, & the main living-room/kitchen is lovely, with sloping ceilings, dormer windows & huge fridge & plenty of seating. The bedrooms are pleasant, especially the main one, with lovely views across the bay to Holy Island. The kitchen is reasonably well-stocked. However, no-one bothered to turn on the heating before we arrived (nor leave any sort of welcome tray, never mind anything Xmassy) so we arrived to stone-coldness. We had to...

"The apartment itself is absolutely amazing, everything you need & so clean. The view over the Marina is lovely & plenty of green space for a dog to run !! However...the back alley shared entrance isn't mentioned & the alley is quite dark at night especially if you were returning on your own. "Lodge was easy to find and access from email instructions. Love the decor/styling. Kitchen was well kitted out and a great shower. Good TV, comfy sofa. Small secure outdoor space was fine for small dog to potter out. Highly recommend for a couple. Very handy for town centre, Alnwick Castle and parkrun Heaters seems to constantly click loudly so options were a disrupted sleep or being a bit cold overnight. Parking would be tricky in peak season but <5mins walk. "

"Lovely, beautiful little old fashioned lodge for self-catering tucked away behind thick gardens abutted to a lovely old building on the outskirts of Alnwick. Its self-catering and had everything we needed, including good TV choice for the evenings and a strong wi-fi (in the lounge but not in kitchen). We just felt so at ease and relaxed in the evenings there. It may not be for everybody, say for example, those that like things to look modern. But for us with an eye to more homely back-in-the-day...
