About this property
Come Stay in Belt Montana - Charming, Historic, Memorable
The Belt Creek Cabin is a log cabin located in historic Belt, Montana. Belt is in central Montana and is nestled between wheat farms, the Highwood Mountains, and the Little Belt Mountains. Soaring cliffs and precipitous ledges mark the Belt Creek Canyon as it slices out of the Little Belt Mountains and winds toward the town of Belt. Remains of mines, a railroad, and historic cabins line Belt Creek as it makes its way through the beautiful canyon carved in limestone. In fact, Sluice Boxes State Park, which resides in that canyon, is just beyond our front door. Belt gets its unusual name from nearby Belt Butte, a mountain with a belt of rocks encircling it.
The Belt Creek Cabin is a log cabin which includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and living area, and has beds for six guests. Relax outside on the beautiful decks, on which you can barbecue, visit with the local residents, and enjoy the beautiful view, including Belt Creek as it flows past the cabin. Take a short stroll down Castner Street to The Belt Commercial Historic District, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Belt was settled as a coal camp in the late 19th century. It is a charming small town, surrounded with opportunities for hiking, hunting, fishing, cross country and downhill skiing, bike riding, bird watching, wildlife viewing, picnicking, photography, swimming, rafting, ice fishing, ATV, horseback riding and historical reminiscing. We have our own renowned brewery, which features Pig Ass Porter, Charlie Russell Red and Beltian White. Please see our “Things to Do” page for more information.
The local museum captures the history of Belt. Housed in the old town jail, the Belt Museum includes a jail cell, a coal mine exhibit, records, photos, and the work of local artists. Private tours can be arranged to see the Belt Museum. Belt also hosts an annual rodeo, spanning three days and attracting competitors from across the west.
In an easy day trip, you can even see dinosaurs at the Old Trail Museum in Choteau! If you like ghost towns, check out Barker & Hughsville. In Great Falls, a quick 15 minute drive, you can see one of the world’s largest freshwater springs, which was discovered by the Lewis & Clark Expedition, and flows at a rate of 156 million gallons of crystal clear water per day. Giant Springs creates the Roe River, once named the world’s shortest river in the Guinness Book of World Records. You can see the series of five waterfalls that the Lewis & Clark Expedition spent a full month portaging from the lower falls to the upper.
Belt is a great stopping point between Glacier National Park to the north, and Yellowstone National Park to the south. Great Falls International Airport is located within easy driving distance. Make us part of your journey. You won’t be disappointed.
Check out the area for things to do. A very interesting and fun area to visit.

Our stay was short but wonderful. We have stayed here before and we like it because it’s close to family that we visit in Belt. It is a cozy little place that is clean and convenient, so it works well for us.
This cabin is roomy and comfortable. The bed is on the small side. The location was perfect for our needs. Enjoyed our coffee on the back deck listening to the river and we staying here.
We enjoyed our stay tremendously. I wish we could have stayed longer. So easy to check in and out, and our questions and the change to the reservation were promptly answered.
Very comfortable little cabin. We ate our meals on the back deck, listening to the creek. We walked everywhere around town. And sitting in peace and quiet at night, looking at the stars was restorative. 10/10 definitely renting again.
Very nice property. Very clean and had everything we needed. The only negative we had was that it was very hot. In the 90's. Cabin advertised air conditioning but there was only a small table top unit which did not cool the cabin. We actually had to go sleep at our granddaughters house our second night there. But we did love the cabin and will book again when we go back to visit family, we just won't go in July or August. Close to Great Falls for shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend this cabin.
This was a very cozy stay! Cabin was clean and exactly as described in the listing. Unfortunately, the internet was out during my stay, however the host did attempt to contact the internet company, but was unable to get it back on due to the holiday weekend. It was nice being disconnected for the weekend, so no complaints.

Our stay was great and we really didn't have any complaints. Everything worked well and we had a good stay.
Super convenient cute cabin right in town. Have stayed here in the past. Only disappointed this time in the condition of the pull out bed. Luckily we had our own bedding we brought from our house to use as what was on it had mouse droppings and was pretty unclean looking.
We had a great time, cabin was very clean and loved all the wood.
Renting was very easy, secure and although we didn't plan on canceling our trip the cancelation policy was very accommodating to cover almost everything.
Great accommodation for what we needed. Tiny house experience. Coffee on the patio with the creek running below. Comfy bed. Used washer dryer and easy drive the family ranch. Beautiful time of year. Would use this home again for a future visit. Great location for short day trips to Memorial Falls and Giant Springs! Only drawback was no salt or pepper. Short walk to the Belt Valley grocery and several places to grab pizza or a burger.
The owner of the property, was excellent at getting back to me, when I called her about anything. And the woman who takes care of the place, even brought me over one of her fans, which was able to act like a little bit of an air conditioner. One thing I wished it had, was an air conditioner! But the mornings, and the evenings, were delightful! I had a wonderful time!
Nice little cabin, has all the basics. Very nice deck for when the weather is good. Only thing to be aware of is it's very close to a popular bar and it can get a little noisy on the weekends, but if you don't mind that it's a great location not far from Great Falls.

Pheasant Hunting with the Belt Cabin.
Our pheasant hunting group has stayed at the cabin in Belt, on two occasions. We found it to meet our needs perfectly. The location is great, with access to the Pub, café and grocery store, only steps away. The cabin is cozy and has all of the items to make your stay effortless. We will be sure to stay here again.
This cabin was great for our own space while visiting family over the holidays. The kitchen worked well for preparing small dishes. The bed was comfortable, and the bunk beds looked perfect for kids. The local grocery store and bars/restaurants are within walking distance. Added perks are: pet friendly, great deck overlooking the creek, and wide space for parking next to cabin (not on street).
The cabin was easily accessible, clean and looked exactly as pictured. It was comfortable and had all the comforts of home. The people in Belt are very friendly and it is a nice, small, quiet community. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our communication with the property owner was pleasant and prompt in response to our inquiries.
We travel to Belt every year to visit family. This year we decided to stay in the Belt Cabin. Easy check in/check out. Communication with the owner was good. The kids loved the bunk beds and having the creek right behind the cabin was nice to have. The only thing we didn’t care for was it could have been a little cleaner. A little dusty, found some antacid tablets under the fitted sheet on the bed the first night. Pink mold on the shower curtain. Leather seat peeling. Despite this, we would probably stay again. It was super convenient location and the price was right.

Very Nice!
The cabin was very cozy and well appointed. The kitchen was well equipped with many small appliances. It was quiet and close to down town. The cabin was next door to the town museum on one side and a local brew pub on the other. Up the street was the actual brewery which we visited and took a tour. We really enjoyed eating dinner on the back deck overlooking Belt Creek.

Unique and comfortable. Should state that it comfortably sleeps 2, and can accommodate up to 4 others on a hide-a-bed couch and two small bunks in a closet. Sleeps 6 is accurate, but not comfortable.
Very clean. Only problem was the electrical outlets in bathroom didn’t work. I think the GFI was not working.

cozy cabin, misleading setting
This cozy cabin is extremely clean and well maintained and obviously built with love and attention to detail. However, the description of the setting and location is misleading. It backs onto a pub and a decrepit bridge and the creek running behind it is unremarkable.
If you are merely looking for a clean place to stay then this is the one, but if you're looking for an escape in the woods, keep looking. The owner was prompt in her responses and informative about attractions close by.

Lovely Cabin
My wife and I spent 15 days here on Sept. Everything was perfect. The cabin is well equipped with everything you may need. It has a new flat tv and satellite tv service so I could watch some of the tennis US Open and also has wifi so I could answers emails and take care of my business.
Mary Beth was always a text away to answer any question we had about the cabin.
I would highly recommend it to anybody who wants to visit Great Falls and its surroundings.
We'll be back next year.

Cabin in Belt
The only thing that wasn't good, was getting in the door. When we arrived the lock was frozen but we managed to get inside. Even after it warmed up it was quite hard to unlock the door, a little frustrating.
