Overlooking the Assawoman Canal and Jefferson Creek, and just a mile to the beach, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath home is a great base camp for your family's beach adventures. Large screened porch and deck allow you to relax and enjoy the view. Private access to the canal, just bring your kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboard! Central air conditioning, well-equipped kitchen, washer, dryer and more. 2 TVs (including one Netflix capable with guest's own account), DVD, library of books, board games, Wifi., outside shower, charcoal grill, wood-burning fireplace).

*Delaware regulations require all guests sign a lease agreement within 10 days of booking. A lease agreement will be sent within 24 hours of booking and an electronic signature is required before final check-in information is made available.

We loved the views! This house is in a corner lot with quiet and expansive wetland views and amazing bird watching morning, noon, and night. It is close to the beaches as well with no need to battle traffic once you've arrived. Already planning our return : )

Clean, quiet and comfortable home. Wonderful views with abundant wildlife. Next to canal, nice that they offer kayaks, the canal is a great experience, easy for any level yaker. Could use some updating, as it is a well lived in home, this hasn't detered us as this is our second stay and would gladly return n in future.

This home is on a canal. It's great for kayaking. It sits on the edge of a preserve so great for wildlife watching. It's a short walk or bike ride to the beach or downtown Bethany. The house house has a well stocked kitchen. There are also beach chairs and some sand toys.

This house is really peaceful and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. It’s an easy bike ride or a very short drive to the beach, which is lovely. The WiFi worked well for our work laptops — no problems — and the TV had a ton of channels for the kids. Bethany has many restaurant options and Dewey, Rehoboth, and Ocean City are all close by, too.

Lovely home directly on waterfront. Beautifies. Lovely screened porch to enjoy views. Backyard fire pit and kayaks a big and unexpected plus. Direct access from house to water for kayak launch. Very comfortable for two couples of couple with kids. 2d bedroom has bunk beds which was fine for our 20 something kids

Very nice house exactly as pictured and listed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the owners left beer and coffee for us. We used the screened in porch for all meals. We brought kayaks with us and used the ones at the house. Great family vacation house! Thank you

Very nice home with all kinds of everything you would ever need. Well supplied kitchen (included a six pack of beer and coffee for the Keurig!). 3 kayaks. Nice big screen tv with nice variety of channels. Right next to the Assawoman Canal for kayaking. Beautiful area for nature. Two sides have nature only views. Quiet neighborhood for biking. But also quick to jump in the car and go to the beach, stores and restaurants. Perfect for us! Thanks you!

This house is on a corner lot and has privacy on three sides. It’s on the edge of a marsh and a nature lover’s dream. I saw 45 bird species over three days. You can launch kayaks right from the property into the Assawoman Canal. Kayaks are available at the house but only one has a seat. The 1970s house is slightly dated but completely functional. The kitchen is well stocked and appliances are newer. Linens are provided. We loved spending time on the screened-in back porch. We would definitely rent this house again.

My family and I stayed at this same rental five years ago and had a wonderful time. Our experience was completely opposite this time. The house was filthy: floors unwashed, sand and hair on the bedroom carpets, and no working vacuum cleaner in the house. As soon as we arrived, I had to take care of a bag of trash that was left by previous renters and the silverware that had been carelessly dumped in the kitchen drawer. When I contacted customer support, they told me that my need was urgent and they would get right back to me, but I never heard from anyone. Needless to say we will not be staying in Vacasa rental again. The setting of this property is private and beautiful and could be a five-star rental if someone would just take care of the house.

Beautiful place. Confortable and great to be in a quiet and peaceful place. We had a difficult start with the cleaning and some of the expectations with the sheets, covers and pillows in the beds. It seemed that was very little care in the arrangement and preparation for our arrival. The management company Vacasa, responded to some of our concerns. The house floors were dirty and in disarray when we arrived, the porch had crumbs and sticky stains in the table., some plates and silverware were dirty and together with the clean ones, and the Beach parking permit, that allowed us to park at the beach never arrived. We contacted the management company and they never came forward with the pass. We were not able to go to the south Bethany beach were you needed such permit, and ended paying for parking at Bethany beach.

We really enjoyed the house and it's location. It's private and right next to the canal and close to the beach. It was great to have the parking permit available to use. That was a huge blessing! The deck is great to sit out on and enjoy nature. It was also great to have a deck table to sit at for meals outside. We appreciated the kayaks available for use, but only one of them had an actual seat. There were four kayaks there, but only three were usable because one had a cracked front end. The two kayaks without seats were still usable, but not as comfortable. There are adult size life jacks there, but nothing for kids to use. It's nice to have the outside hose available for rinsing things and feet off. The outside shower didn't have much water pressure. The bunk bedroom is great for kids. However, it doesn't get very cool and so one of our kids ended up sleeping on the floor because the top bunk was too hot and the other one slept on the couch a few nights. There were no fans available. While there were a few things that could be improved upon, overall, it was a great place and we really enjoyed our time there! We would definitely go back again.

We have spent many trips at the beach but never on the Assawoman waterways and it was incredible. The house is in an amazing spot with perfect orientation to the vast beauty of the marshes. The house is in need of a deep cleaning as the floors were sticky and clearly have not been mopped in a long time. The house has had cats which should have been advertised for anyone with allergies. There was cat hair on the sofas and strong smell of catboxes in both downstairs closets. Final concern was the bunkbeds were so loose that we could not put sheets ont eh upper bunks safely. We had a set of allan wrenches so we tightened everything up but we got in at night with a family of 6 and needed those beds so it could have been bad since Vacasa does not have after hours service. There are also no cleaning products anywhere in the house to clean up spills or windows. No dish towels at all or toilet paper, dishwasher soap for more than a day or two, so be sure to pack those for yourself. Also no beach towels, chairs or umbrellas, so bring your own. Those are the criticisms but the house is wonderful, the 4 kayaks got used daily, which were so great to have for fishing and touring the marsh. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Never got instructions for what we needed to do in the house for checkout, but checkout process was super easy. Great house for the price and for a really peaceful experience.

Don't get me wrong, we loved the location and the casual atmosphere of this cabin-like home. We loved that it is on the Assawoman Canal with easy access for our kayaks. Close to Assawoman wildlife nature park, the beach, and boardwalk! We did it all!! Even chartered shark fishing with top fin charter in Lewes. The home is somewhat dated in bathrooms and kitchen, although well stocked. The plastic adirondack chairs are very flimsy, which was a shame since the deck and screen porch were fabulous views where wildlife abounds, and sturdier chairs would have made for a more enjoyable less worrisome experience. There was old coffee in the pot and grounds in the basket. Several cracked, chipped dishes. Toilet seats both bathrooms very loose which we fixed. Ceiling fan remote didn't work and was on constantly, later we discovered battery was in backwards. Fridge ice/water dispenser very discolored prob from hard water. Shower head needs a good cleaning or replacement as the jet holes have black mold on them and spray in sev directions. Even with all that, we still enjoyed the home mostly for its quiet location away from the crowds, but still close to everything! Please note, the property management company, Vascasa, manages this home and will bill separately and send docs of their own to sign. They also removed all comments from my review on their site that had the TLC needed itmes.....
