"Nice place, cozy room. Near a noisy road and railroad - hard to ignore on the deck, but easy to ignore from our room. A part was missing from TV so it wouldn’t work. Help coming ‘soon’ meant 4 hours before a second TV was brought in. Polite but slow response and have seen no sign of the promised discount. But they did ask the maid to bring a box of microwave popcorn for us. Nice to be close to Indiana Dunes."

The Cypress Log Cabin - Historic National Park Home on the beach

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I meet a friend and former coworker every year to visit a national park. This year it was Indiana Dunes. We had looked in the past at timing a trip so that we could (hopefully) go on the once-a-year tours of the five Century Of Progress homes in Indiana Dunes. Last fall, I was surprised to notice that you could actually rent the Cypress Log Cabin. In addition, it was a available for two days the same week as the 2026 annual homes tour. So we went ahead and booked the house Sunday 9/20/26 through Tuesday 9/22/26 and, luckily, were also able to get tickets for the homes tour that takes place on Saturday 9/26/26. In between, we explored the park, took the South Shore Line (train) to the Obama Center, and enjoyed the food and drink the area had to offer. The house is amazing. We could have sat in the sun room all day and just relaxed watching the Lake Michigan waves crashing into the shore. Although I am retired and have never had kids there is plenty for kids to do as well. You will have everything you need at the house, a grocery store is not that far away, and there are also some restaurants only a couple miles away. This was our 17th national park trip together and staying at the Cypress Log Cabin was one of the best decisions we ever made. Thank you!"

"Carolina is an excellent host. She responds to all emails quickly. The rooms were very clean with enough space for privacy when needed. The area is centrally located and walkable to restaurants and the outlet mall. The Farmers’ Market was right across the street on Saturday. The beach is a short drive away. We had a very good weekend getaway."
