Firstly, the staff were great.
Otherwise, this hotel desperately needs some investment. It wasn't cheap staying here for one night and what we got was a noisy room stuck in the 90s, The property smelled like an old folk's home. Stains on the carpets both in the room and common areas and furnishings were worn out. It just wasn't the best stay.
Nice breakfast though, and plenty of parking.

Very helpful reception staff on arriving. Pleasant friendly gentleman called ? Christian
My only criticism was the bar prices. £8.20p for a 150 mile basic white wine !

The building is tired and needs a lot of TLC but all the staff were expectional and couldn't do enough. Easy parking and good location. Room was 'dated' but functional and clean, with a bath (bonus!) and very comfy firm beds. We paid for breakfast and said it would be 10.45 before we arrived, but were there by 10.35 in the end (Breakfast is served until 11am). We had to ask for the food to be replenished and at first was told there were no more pastries (essential park of breakfast) but then chef agreed to cook us some. If breakfast is advertised as until 11am, at at cost of over £15, then i'd expect all breakfast items to be available until this time.
Great value hotel
Staff helpful and friendly
Would definitely go back

Hotel is situated in well maintained grounds, with lots of parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Room basic, needing updating.Comfortable bed. Great choice àt breakfast time from a hot breakfast,to cereals plus continental,in a lovely room overlooking the grounds at the front of the hotel. New carpet in communal areas badly needed plus redecorating. Having said all that the price was very reasonable, and it is a dog friendly hotel.
Four off us stayed for a 1 week, the hotel and staff were excellent and very helpful, our room was very comfortable, bed was very comfortable.
We did have a problem trying to get into our room, the key card did not activate and had to go to reception several times for new card.
If we had 1 problem, it would be most helpful to have a handrail going up the steps to main entrance.

This is a tired hotel. Reception was fine, the walk to our room past chipped paintwork and on faded carpet led to our room which had rusty hinges in the bathroom, a rusty plughole in the sink, and an extractor fan that was not working. On the positive side, comfortable bed.
We did not pay a fortune for the room and it was only a one night stay.
Just needs a bit of TLC
Lovely hotel, excellent breakfast and great staff.

There was no one on reception when we arrived (about 10pm) and had to wait ages for someone to come.
The room was clean.
The staff at breakfast were lovely and so helpful and the breskfast itself was very good.

While general update required, overall hotel was clean, staff friendly and price was great. I would stay again and more likely to look out for this chain in the future.

Generally we had a good stay as it was an excellent price. Shame about the bradford ulez charge £9 per day.
Rooms clean and tidy. Comfortable bed excellent shower. Room radiator heating not working so had to be given a oil heater.
Whole building is tired. Rooms and building require renovation, listed building makes it difficult.
Single glazed windows, no convenient power points by the beds.
Breakfast facilities not used.
Staff helpful.
Would consider returning to visit bronte country as its well placed.
The exterior of the hotel is lovely but once inside it’s very tired. The carpets are worn and stained. No air con or phone in the room. The tea/coffee was not refilled during the service. There is no lift in the section of hotel I was staying. The windows didn’t open much and the was no fan available. It was convenient for where I wanted to be.
The staff I dealt with are very pleasant and there’s a large car park.
We spent four nights at the Bradford Mercure Hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There are as plenty of car park spaces and the breakfast was amazing with a fantastic choice of food. The room was large and clean with a good bathroom. The one complaint was that their website states there was food available all day. When we arrived, we were told food was from 6 pm. Then on the last two days there were coach parties and large gatherings on site, and we were told that food for hotel guests would be served from 8 pm. And the menu turned out to have just four main courses, nothing like the large menus on their website. It seemed that hotel residents were treated as second class citizens. Apart from that, the hotel and staff were great.
