"Breakfast was fine,, The room was clean, But the room needs a mini fridge"

"On the outside a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Inside it is an old property and not up to date ie no usb points to charge phones etc without a plug. However one of the reception staff kindly lent us one to charge our phones. The furniture in the bedroom was scuffed and the room was not cleaned/ bins emptied/ beds made up etc during our entire stay (4nights). Had to ask for clean towels as only 2 bath towels in bathroom. Breakfast was adequate but we have had as good in a premier inn. On our final night we had to evacuate due to fire alarm going off at 3.30am. Luckily we had our car in which to sit for over an hour once we had been checked off on the register, and it was a dry night & our heated seats kept us warm. Handy hotel to stay in if visiting the Great Yorkshire show and the Emmerdale tour and York is also close by with its fabulous designer outlet to the south of York meaning you don’t actually have to go into the city."

"If you have a room at the back very noisy and hot. The floors are very squeaky so people walking along the corridors may wake you up. Bar food stops at 5pm which is very early. Rooms only tidied when requested not cleaned or new sheets. Items were not restocked during the tidy session. Tried ringing room service called three consecutive times no answer ending up having to phone the hotel again no answer so I had to go downstairs to order the room service which is not the point of room service Rooms overlooking the car park are cooler as the Sun only hits in the morning but you are unable to open the windows or close the windows more than they already are Majority of the staff I spoke to were polite, one receptionist male in the morning I felt was quite rude."

"The hotel & the rooms are very nice, my only negative comment would be the rooms are too warm - there is a fan in the room, but it’s not very powerful. Even with the windows open it wasn’t cooling down (it wasn’t overly hot outside - about 24/25 degrees) Apart from that, I couldn’t fault it."
