"The Duke of York is a proper British local pub in a building that's a good few hundred years old.
The staff and the locals are friendly and welcoming and the food is great.
Dont get upset that there's no lift to the upper level or at the absence of Aircon.

"Attended a wedding, food was amazing, staff very attentive, check in easy, it was so relaxing, what a lovely place, only one quibble i found the mattress uncomfortable so woudnt stay no more than a couple of nights, but the pillows where soft and comfy...Oh the tree

"I was impressed with the lady who ran the hotel that night. She checked me in, instructed me where to park my car, advised where to get dinner because they didn't provide evening meals, served my drink in the bar, laid my table for my brought in take away dinner and then cleared up and still managed to do some cleaning. She made my evening very easy and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more. "
