"Lovely place to stay. Was just the two of us. We would say 2nd bedroom is suitable for children rather than infants or adults, due to steep stairs, and layout of the room. Teenagers would love it I'd imagine. Only thing that let it down slightly was the small seating area outside. Just needs a little TLC. A quick sweep out would have helped. Other than that Masham and this property well worth visit, if maybe slightly over priced."

"We had an enjoyable stay at Forge Cottage. Everything was provided for a comfortable week’s stay in this spacious cottage. The cottage was cosy to return to after a day out. The location is perfect - just off the square in Masham. Would highly recommended & we will return as we adore Masham."

"I arrived late and the staff were helpful upon check in. In my room however I could not find the tv remote anywhere, the bed was uncomfortable and the floor was gritty like it hasn’t been hoovered. I could clearly hear people in other rooms and periodically something which sounded like a fan switching on. The final straw was blood splatters on the bathroom mirror."

"Spent a week at Badgers Holt and had an excellent time Was visiting with my wife and son Accommoation was first class and highly recommended. Town centre was just a short walk and provided all necessary services Many interesting walks from the property most notably along the River Ure Will hopefully return"

Swinton Park Hotel

"Room was in good condition however it was a disabled room that was not advised on booking. There was an intermittent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Seeing the disabled room I immediately requested a room change but here was not much enthusiasm as we had a 2 night stay and was told the hotel was full the following night so not much they could do and on the first night there were currently no other made up rooms. Overall the staff at the bar and in the restaurant and around the hotel were very good however breakfast on Sunday morning left a lot to be desired in terms of service as anything cooked took an age to arrive and my wife after at least half an hour gave up on hers but it did arrive as we were leaving! The grounds and facilities are excellent. On departure I was clear to my complaint on the room, I was offered a token without any any investigation and offered access to speak with the deputy manager. I declined both and hoped it would have been dealt with differently as my point was not financial and being fobbed off with £50 and having to request the manager did not feel right. My intention was to convey disappointment with the room in the hope of investigation and recognition to a problem with some assurance it would not remain an issue for others. I left feeling no one really cared! "
