A proper old school tavern, bar and cafe on the ground floor, rooms on the upper floor. Right next to train station, ships and restaurants nearby, bus to great hiking trails nearby.

We had booked a room with a shared bathroom, and were delighted with the attention paid to cleanliness, renovation and maintenance. We were also amazed at how quiet it was, considering our room was facing the highway, and we didn't mind the train noise at all. We would have appreciated a microwave in the room, or access to one, but apart from that, it was great.

This hotel has really clean, comfortable rooms, wonderful food and walking distance to all the shops. Love staying here every time we are in Blackheath. Not 5 star but in some ways better. Certainly the price is fabulous for what you get

Room was clean . Had electric blankets that was a bonus. Pressure on shower was terrible. Bathroom fan was so noisy. Saturday night music didn’t stop till after 11 so if you’re planning on sleeping early forget it. The walls were thin so could hear it loud and clear.

The room was very pleasant . Lovely outlook to the street. The hotel was very central across from the train station. Close to shops and other amenities. Had a delicious lunch and a jazz band played in the afternoon! Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the history of the building. The bed was warm & comfy. Only gripe is the wifi connection to the tele that my tween was looking forward to having after 2 weeks on the road in remote spots sleeping in the car.

Hotel is located in a good location with caffes and restaurants nearby, however the room we had apparently was on top of Karaoke bar which we had to bear the noise of Karaoke till 11pm on Friday night before they go quiet. It is also close to walking tracks nearby.
