Amazing location, with walking access to the river. The house is close enough to campus that you can easily get an uber to a game. This place was pet-friendly and had the cutest kitchen. All around great experience.
This was a great place to stay. Great view of the river on the great deck. The house was perfect for the family. I would definitely like to rent for another time. We will be coming down in the fall to go to Va Tech football games and will try to rent again.
Perfect location! River views, mountain views, tranquility all in this wonderful cabin with hot tub on deck! We brought our pup along and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!
This was a fantastic place to stay while we visited Virginia Tech with my teen daughter. The best part about it was the view of the river (we enjoyed the hot tub!), and our puppy enjoyed taking walks along the river. The house was just as described, very comfortable, and had everything we needed, included for our dog. Thanks for a wonderful trip!
Property location was nice and peaceful. Fully stocked kitchen and wonderful deck to relax on. Only draw back was 1 shower and it was tight. We enjoyed our stay.
My family had a lovely fall weekend at the cabin. The view from the porch was lovely and we loved watching the trains coming around the mountain. The house was very clean and came with all of the comforts of home, plus incredible surroundings.
My wife and I loved this house! The views are incredible. Cozy, immediately felt like home. So grateful for the hosts working with us leading up to our stay. We definitely will come back.
Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the views jacuzzi and surrounding area. Trains were an added bonus. Well stocked. No need to bring paper goods; shampoo etc. beds were comfy. Our dog loved roaming around the property too.
The property was as described and met our needs well. We stayed over the Christmas holiday, but it seems like it would be even nicer in the summer or fall. The views were beautiful. It is private. The porch, hot tub, and outdoor dining furniture make it a nice location for warmer months.
Stayed here for our son's New Cadet Parade weekend at VA Tech. Great location and so relaxing! The views are amazing! It was perfect for a quiet weekend of relaxation. The hot tub was clean and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable. It had everything that we needed and the hosts were very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at the cabin many times in years past, prior to renovations. I have enjoyed seeing it's transformation over the years. I have stayed there alone, with family and friends. Everyone loves it. The cabin will always be my favorite place to visit every year hopefully for many years to come.
Cute little cozy cabin on the hillside overlooking the river. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Deck was great for sitting and eating outside. Hot tub was perfect. Beds were very comfortable and the cabin was well stocked. It was summertime so we didn’t get to use the fire pit but it looked perfect as well.
Cozy Cabin was a great getaway for a few days. The views, sound of the river, and Fall colors were just what we needed to decompress. We loved hearing the trains, eating at The Palisades, visiting our son, and seeing sights in the Blacksburg area. The deck and hot tub were where we spent most of our time. Cabin had plenty of paper supplies and most anything you need for your stay. We used some things and left some things that could be used by others. Would love to come back when we can tube and play in the river water.
My family & I stayed for a couple of days and to be close to VA Tech. The property was exactly as described. It was cozy and homey... Perfect for our family! We loved sitting on the deck and looking at the beautiful view. We especially enjoyed the hot tub after a long day! The house was full of everything we needed for our trip.
The owners were welcoming and easy to reach. We enjoyed their recommendations for dinner (in the house book).
We loved the cozy cabin as we enjoyed the closeness we felt being together! We would love to visit again!

The view is amazing! We loved using the brand new hot tub and walking down to the river for fishing (it is a slightly strenuous walk to get there--no problem at all for us, but wouldn't be good for someone with mobility issues). The appliances are also new, and the house was stocked with detergent, shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, etc.--there was even a bottle of wine to welcome us! We cannot wait to return after the renovations noted in the guest manual are complete!
We had an amazing time! We fell in love with the coziness and the views! The train sounds took me back to our childhood days when we would often hear those going by our house. Such a fond memory! We already have plans to return after the renovation in late spring/early summer.I lived in Montgomery County for almost 8 years while I worked in Pulaski County. It isn't a far drive from home but it sure feels like you're miles away from the demands of every day life. The cabin was very refreshing and we felt right at home. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Sound of train, too rustic and uncomfortable bed
The trains passing by and lasting over 10 minutes at a time is not my idea of relaxing. Place was too rustic for my taste. There is no shower in the master bedroom but the outside shower saved the day and it is great. The foam bed was not ideal for my backache. It would be a good idea to have instruction for the thermostat. It is not the most common type.
A truly exceptional stay. The host’s responsiveness and hospitality stood out, ensuring a smooth and stress-free trip. The level of care was evident in every interaction, and we would highly recommend this property to anyone. We will definitely be back.
