Hidden gem with hot tub and tennis court in idyllic East Sussex countryside .

"The check-in was super uncomplicated and Maria provided a very thorough explanation of the property. She was contactable by phone at all times. The location of the property is great, the property itself is a great old house with plenty of space and some nice extras (i.e. Tennis court and Hot Tub, both in good condition). Cleanliness, however, was disappointing at best. Fridge, kitchen drawers, oven etc had obviously not been cleaned for a while. All sinks and bathrooms were quite grim, bed sheets same. There was a lot of clutter in some areas like the conservatory with the seating area squished next to the clutter. The house itself is such a great location that it was quite disappointing to find it in such a state, especially considering how much money was charged for the stay. We spent a few hours cleaning first before we could really enjoy the stay. We did definitely not expect this when booking the stay. If general cleanliness and tidiness was addressed, however, it would be a great place to stay and spend a few relaxed days."

The House of the Seven Dwarfs

"That's what we called it - the house of the seven dwarfs. However, don't be held back by the "dwarf" part - it's not tiny! It is just extremely cosy, cute, and elegant. Vintage, yet certainly not outworn. An extremely pleasant experience for those like us, coming from the modernism of the city who want to find some peace, quietness and family-feeling. My kids hardly touched their phones and did not even open a laptop or tablet! We did watch, all together, a nice Disney movie, though. If I have to mention a negative thing, there would be two: driving out of the property onto the street can be dangerous, as it's a blind curve. Just drive slow & careful and you'll be ok. And secondly, you're asked to leave the property by 10am - which for some of us, on a Sunday, was a little painful. But to some extent, it's part of the charm. You won't be disappointed!"

"2nd visit here and 100% will be visiting next year beautiful quiet location and the property was immaculate with the most comfortable bed lovely views from room and balcony. The hot tub was amazing and secluded heating is excellent and Tv with Netflix and prime a few games like scrabble etc to play . Lovely pub and Indian restaurant 10 minute walk to the village kitchen well equipped oven kettle toaster washing machine even a dish washer . And Sam the host can’t do enough for you and is always on hand to sort out any issues (not that there was any) she works so hard to make your stay comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again next year ."

1st visit but I'll be back!

"Both Sally and her husband were amazing hosts - very friendly and ensured that my stay provided me with everything that I needed and more! I wasn't going to have breakfast but changed my mind on arriving at the house and so glad I did. Fabulous mushroom omelette accompanied with toast. Only downside is that they close at the end of the month and reopen in spring so I'll just have to wait for my next stay!!! On the plus side this means that they get time with their family which is so important and values that I hold high too! Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome."
