The Haybarn
The location of the property was excellent with dramatic mountain views from the picture windows. The property's layout was perfect for a sociable family get together. However, there were some disappointing features which marred the overall experience.
All the beds were of very poor quality and need replacing. Without wishing to exaggerate, I cannot recall sleeping in a more uncomfortable bed. The bedding,pillows and quilts were also very thin,tired and poor quality. It was dissapointing that on all king size beds there were only two lumpy pillows.
We ran out of hot water on both full days we were at the property. The hot water tank is clearly too small for a property sleeping eight guests and I realised later than the hot water was only timed to come on at 4pm. This wasn't very helpful when we returned from a long walk at 3pm on Sunday and wanted to wash and change for a big family dinner togther.
We ran out of toilet paper on the second day. I hadn't expected to have to bring spare rolls of toilet paper on a weekend cottage break. I suggest spare rolls are provided, particularly for short break bookings.
Finally, one toilet had not been cleaned, another toilet flush was broken on arrival and it would have been nice to have matching crockery, cups and cutlery for all guests.
