Great hotel

Loved this hotel located in a beautiful area of Wales! Staff were attentive and food was absolutely great!! Accommodations were what one would expect from an older hotel… what I mean is “mind your head!!”

We loved this hotel! It was way more than we expected. The food was excellent & menu choices were great. The pub area was lively & fun. The owners & staff went above & beyond to accommodate our every need. The breakfast was outstanding & they have the best coffee. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The town is very well located & a short driving distance to many attractions in the area.

Fabulous stay at this gorgeous BnB with charming hosts. Loved the spacious ensuite room with soaking tub. Breakfast was perfect and the shared living space (with breathtaking Brecon Beacon views) was so comfortable that H enjoyed posting up there for work. Would love to return for a longer (than 2 night) visit and check out more of the hundreds of nearby hikes.

Without hyperbole, this is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The view out the back of the building—the Wye twisting into the West, flanked by lush green hills—is jaw-dropping. I couldn’t believe it. I took dozens of pictures at different times of day, wanting my loved ones back home to see what I was seeing, but of course, the pics didn’t do the view justice. The guesthouse is also a short drive into Hay, where the walk along the river is lovely, and the bookshops are really fun...

This was our first time staying at a hotel that wasn't staffed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodations were very modern. Plenty of hot water. Easy access to both train and bus stations. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. Quiet. We didn't hear street noise. Stairs are steep, as others have noted. Nice room, although the electrical outlets were inconveniently placed. Good restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and very close to the Welsh National Roman Legion Museum.

We just stayed here for a long weekend and had such a lovely time. The rooms were very nice and modern, friendly staff and the food was amazing.
