It's gorgeous and grand, with beautiful grounds worth wandering, excellent dining, and comfortable rooms (probably the best hotel bed I've ever slept in), and the staff was amazing. We felt like royalty, with every request being catered to immediately. Granted, it's not near much and far from the bustling center of Dublin, but that was a good thing for us -- we had our adventures during the day and took a quick bus ride south that dropped us practically at the gates, where we slipped back into our own tranquil haven. St. Helen's is honestly one of the best hotels my family and I have ever visited; we can't stop talking about it, even now that we're back home."

"I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and smell amazing. There are elevators so, no need to drag luggage up stairs. They hotel will hold your bags if you arrive early and want to explore the city or grab food before you are ready to check in. Super simple process to check in. The beds are okay, not too bad. The pillows are amazing. You can warm or cool your own room with a thermostat on the wall. The showered are nice and hot with a waterfall shower head. The only downside is there isnt a mini fridge or microwave. Not a deal breaking but, i would loved to keep drinks cold over night or warm up left overs I brought back to the room. There is a blowdryer in the room so no need to bring your own. There is also a safe in the room to lock up anything important you dont want to take with you. All in all, this hotel was great! I would definitely recommend it or possibly stay again in the future. ❤️🇮🇪"

"Check-in was not a breeze and this is where the front desk could do better. Asked if I could check-in earlier and they wanted 120 Euros which is almost the cost of an overnight stay. I would've been ok if it was about 50 euros but ok, fine that's the hotel policy which sucks b/c check-in is at 4PM at this property. All other hotels I stayed at while Ireland had no issues with an earlier check-in, if same room type was ready and available (all similarly appointed at 4*). When it was finally time to check-in, I was tapping my card to pay for the room and security deposit but machine was not accepting my card, twice. My card was in good status and I've never had any issues traveling with it since it's a travel cc. The front desk person, if they were astute and experienced, should've suggested I insert my card instead of trying to tap it but instead suggested I step aside and call my cc company. That was a waste of my time b/c cc told me to try and insert with pin if tapping doesn't work. Other than the front desk experience, the location is close steps away from the LUAS and only a few stops to the centre of Dublin with all the areas, restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, etc. you'll want to see. Rooms are clean and well appointed."

"The food was horrible, It was way too busy in the evening for the hotel guests to sit anywhere, we had to go up to our room to actually sit down and have a drink. They only give you one room Key. Wasn’t a good experience. "
