"We had an unexpected layover in Venlo and stayed here 1 night. It is a beautiful, quiet property nestled in a forest area. The staff was accommodating and the room was very nice. It was not walking distance to Venlo or the train station but the taxi ride was inexpensive. No restaurants near the hotel but the hotel does have a bar/restaurant with a picturesque patio area and friendly staff. "

"I loved the historical nature of this hotel. It was formerly an orphanage and it has been restored to reflect that. The rooms are small, basically the width of a king size bed, (which was gorgeously comfortable), though there was a shower and sink in the room as well. The toilets are down the hall. "It was a 5 day business stay from abroad. It is hard to get around without a taxi or bike. Uber is available but the wait time varies from 15-25 minutes. I had dinner at their restaurant twice. The dinner was great but the service is below average. I found the place to be a bit expensive. The rooms and views were great. I asked for electric kettle to drink hot water but they did not provide and suggested to use Nespresso Coffee Machine which is a bummer. "
