Being an one of the Original Short Term Rentals on Cherry Log Mountain we are excited to share the updates with our past, future and return guests.

Getaway from your daily hustle and bustle at BlackBeary Cottage; a cozy two bedroom (with sleeper sofa), one bath cabin with room for six (4 Adults comfortably).

Relax with your favorite book in a rocking chair, roast marshmallows by the fire, hike the Benton MacKaye Trail(100 yards away), or fish one of 2 stocked lakes/ponds.

Within ten minutes you will be in the quaint town of Blue Ridge where you can enjoy fine dinning(Harvest on Main, Black Sheep Restaurant to name a few), take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, browse the many shops, or sample some local beer/wine. Or travel about fifteen minutes south to Ellijay, GA and visit the many apple orchards, taste some wine at Cartecay Vineyards or explore some history at the Tabor House & Civil War Museum. Bear Claw and Serenberry Vineyards in Blue Ridge is a short drive from the cabin.

Within a short distance you can enjoy white water rafting, horse back riding, hiking trails, fishing, canoeing, tubing, and some beautiful mountain views. If you enjoy playing some slots on your getaway, the Harrahs Casino is about 30 minutes away in Murphy, NC.

Although BlackBeary Cottage is a nice getaway to the mountains it has all the comforts of being at home: flat screen Sling TV, wireless internet, fully stocked kitchen, gas fireplace(seasonal), two bedrooms with queen sized beds, new washer and dryer, and a propane grill.

We have been hosting guests since 2015 and look forward to any questions you have about the property and area you are looking to visit.

We had a nice, quiet stay at Tadd & Darla’s cabin. We enjoyed having breakfast on the back porch and we even saw a couple deer while we were there. We cooked some steaks on the grill and watched some college football. Don’t use Apple Maps to try to navigate to the property address, it won’t take you there. Waze worked fine, the folks that delivered the groceries said that google worked well for them.

Relax and Enjoy

This was a very nice place for us to get away for our anniversary. Pack up so you don’t have to go and down the mountain but that also means very little traffic! The listing gave very good directions for the easiest route up. Communication was excellent with the host. We will definitely be coming back when we get the chance!

Great mountain get-a-way

My husband and I had a great time at Black Beary Cottage. We relaxed and end enjoyed the the beautiful scenery. The cottage met all of our needs. The host went above and beyond with communication. Highly recommend.

Cabin was very clean, really enjoyed our time there. Loved the fireplace but it only worked on 30 minutes but it wasn't a problem, we would definitely stay there again

Nice rustic cabin

The property was perfect for our family of five. The cabin was fully equipped with everything that we needed. I liked the location on the mountain, but also not too far from town. The owner was easy to reach, though we didn’t have any problems during our stay. We would be happy to stay there again.

This cabin was just what we were looking for. It was comfy and clean. Washer and dryer was a great bonus. And letting us bring our pugs was wonderful Lots of windy roads to get there but worth it. The host let us come early at last minute and was very helpful. Description was spot on.

Very cozy and perfect for my family of 3. The fireplace was especially nice because you just flip a switch. Take your own bath soap and shampoo/conditioner. Owner does not provide those things.

Lovely cabin with everything we needed

The cabin is perched along a ridge with a beautiful wraparound porch. It was a little cool for us to enjoy the porch this time, but we were able to relax for a few days. The road up the ridge makes for a nice daily hike. Tad was an attentive and thoughtful host and we would certainly stay again if the opportunity arises.

Quaint cabin experience

Perfect quaint cozy cabin deep in the woods. Fire place was especially nice. Our first cabin stay and we would chose this one again. Owner very communicative and responsive. Be prepared for narrow mountain roads but we got the hang of it after our first round trip.
