"We had a terrible stay at the Westin on St. John. Unfortunately, this luxury hotel gave away our room even after I had called to confirm that we would be one day late due to airplane issues and we understood that we may have to pay for that night. When we arrived on St. John and went to the desk, we were told that we had been a no-show and they gave away our room. Luckily there was one studio left, but we had paid for a two bedroom. We never received the difference in the price of the room. On top of that there were erroneous holds placed on my credit card for very large amounts. The desk staff didn't know why those holds were being placed and could not tell me when they would be removed. By the end of our trip, I had several K worth of charges placed on my credit card. We checked in twice a day to ask about them and try to clear it up. The manager always seemed to be busy and did not respond to all of our calls. By the final day, we were able to talk to the manager, who still was unable to tell us why these charges were being placed on our account, but did write us a letter stating that we were not responsible for those charges. Unfortunately, that was my travel credit card and it caused issues for the rest of our trip because I had less to spend. We were given a small resort credit for the inconvenience. This was unacceptable but at that point we just needed to be done with them. Awful experience and they lost out on a potential client for time share. "

"Amazing house and amenities. We enjoyed having the kayaks and snorkeling so close. The views were spectacular and our family all decided it was one of our favorite rentals. We did not need to use the downstairs apartment, it was a bit musty. Nellie was great the day we arrived leading us to the property and making sure we were able to find our way. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for helping to make our stay in St. John's so memorable!"

Reviewer Comments: This house had an extremely well stocked kitchen with great pots and pans-I know ,weird but so many places don't. The kids went snorkeling right down the path. The beach is rocky and there are urchins but just wear your water shoes, they saw a baby octopus! Pool was refreshing. Hot tub at sunset was gorgeous. The beach equipment provided including coolers, snorkling gear and chairs were all in good shape.The house is a trifle worn but I really thing that's reflected in the price which was very reasonable for a house this size! Pro tip if you rented a big car(ours was a six seat jeep) park at the top of the road!The left from Mampoo is a doozy. If I had a smaller jeep it would have been easy but even cabs didn't want to come all the way down! Great house, very clean,and comfortable"

"This is a great house in St John with a gorgeous view! Beds were comfortable and hot tub was really nice! There was a nice big driveway and it was great to have beach towels and chairs provided. The only troubles we had were: Difficulty with checking in. The property manager was juggling a bunch of houses so couldn’t meet us until 5pm even though we were ready closer to 3:30pm. We also had a tough time finding the house as there isn’t really an address and the property manager was busy so she couldn’t meet us and have us follow her. Also, the wi-fi wasn’t working for the first few days. The property manager allowed my husband to come to her office on Tuesday since he couldn’t take his work call from the house. Overall, a great house, great location and a beautiful island. Thank you! "

"It was a pretty house. Comfy beds, and stocked kitchen. Beautiful views!The driveway is steep and the roads getting you back are tight. It was a little farther away from Cruz Bay than we had planned. But we had a great time!!"

"We had a fantastic time staying at the Mampoo Hill house for 9 days. The view is spectacular and the house layout unique and very private. We loved waking up to the view and sounds of the surf, spending our days exploring all of the beautiful St John beaches and then returning to watch sunsets from the hot tub. We had an awesome week at the Mampoo House on St John and can’t wait to return! "
