"This is a good hotel, conveniently located in the middle of Rouen, right next to the Cathedral. Room was lovely, and very well air-conditioned. Staff were very helpful, advising us on places to visit and eat. Breakfast in the morning was very good.
One reason we chose this hotel was for the on-site parking. Two things to say about this.
Firstly, the directions to find the car park are excellent. Follow each step literally, and it takes you right to the entrance.
Secondly, it is very tight! There are two options when you go down the ramp - small cars or bigger cars. We have a small car, so went that way, and we could fit, but barely! You need to be confident in your ability to manoeuvre a car in a tight space. It was actually harder getting out of the parking space than getting in! The area for bigger cars is probably easier, but we didn't see that one. So do think carefully about the size of your car before using the car park!"
"Great location, property and staff. Its a beauriful building. Almost like being in a palace. If visiting in summer the AC might be a suspect but its the case across all hotels in europe i guess. Breakfast was decent. Parking was paid but right under the property."
"PROS: The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, offered lots of recommendations for restaurants and tours. The service was great, and the location of the hotel was pretty close to the city centre - everything was within walking distance.
CONS:
Air conditioning control was locked on the first night of our stay, uncomfortably hot in the hotel room. Must’ve been an accident, however we had to speak to the hotel staff to get them to reset it the next day.
The bathtub was weathered and had quite a few stains. There was a small stain on the couch in the room, and the bedsheet had a small hole in it. Overall the room had signs of wear and tear which was a little disappointing.
Parking garage was incredibly tight to maneuver, just something to keep in mind."
"The hotel is Marriott, but is located in old Villa. Very charming. The rooms themselves were pretty modern. Not the absolute best configuration with many stairs, especially because the elevator was out part of the time."
"Had to wait to check in but receptionist was polite when she turned up. Bedroom excellent size and clean however the shower could do with some attention around the base as was showing sign of gaps and mould/dirt. It wasn’t clear on hotel description that there is a 1.9m height restriction so we couldn’t park our Ford Transit in the car park but luckily we managed to get a space on the road outside of the hotel. No road sound in room which was good. Air con though was rubbish and may as well have not been on."
"Wonderfully located, comfortable and with very professional and helpful staff. I would recommend it for anyone who would like to be in the center of Rouen and enjoy a relaxed stay. The breakfast is also very good. The staff speaks both French and English and are very attentive. We used also their parking for our rental car— if you are used to drive and park in Europe no issue, if you are driving for the first time in Europe this will be a scary parking to try to park a rental car— is quite for most cars. I had no issue parking a Peugeot 308, it fits but is tight and the lower level parking has a sharp turn that can be unnerving if you are not experienced with narrow parking garages"
