"Home needs a little work on the outside but inside was spacious and had plenty of accommodations for two families with kids. There is a small creek behind the cabin for kids to play in and very close to a good hiking trail."

There are a few camp sites located on the property behind the cabin and the path that lead to them run a small dirt road a few feet from the cabin driveway and we were not aware of that prior to check in. "My husband and I enjoyed the relaxing weekend on this property/. Quaint cabin overlooking a field with a creek. We did some fishing and hiking. They had kayaks available for use. We had a wonderful time may bring grandchildren next time."

"What a wonderful place to stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need (plus lots of extras). It is a place that the owners have taken great pride in. They were very responsive to an early check-in. What a peaceful place!"

Great Inn

"Darren, the homeowner and innkeeper, met us at the door to this lovely home/inn. He welcomed us with a smile and conversation about the history behind Sassafras Inn and Mena, We sat and visited for about an hour. Our suite was extremely large, (2 rooms), complete with coffee and refrigerator. He then provided us with his homemade, organic blueberry muffins that were to die for. Very cozy atmosphere and a soft bed was just the remedy for a long day in the road. Highly recommend this wonderful place. Will stay again!!"

Cute Bedroom on Historic House Grounds

"We stayed 1 night in this unit at the historic Shaver House in Mena, AR. It was super cute and great for a 1-night stay. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious - especially warmed up a little in the microwave! The unit is in a shed-type building in the backyard of this restored historic home. It is essentially a bedroom (with a microwave, minifridge, coffeemaker and TV) and a bathroom. There is not a lot of room to move around inside the shed. The outside area is fantastic - a big fire pit, seating, and hammocks. But I think it is a stretch to describe this unit as a "farmhouse cottage"."
