The unit was more like a Air B&B then a hotel room. There was no registration desk lobby/bar pool etc. The apartment was very large and nicely appointed Great location. The negative: When I got to the address I could not get in.Luckily there was a lady who worked there that helped me contact the renters. They said that my instructions must have got lost in spam. However I checked my spam every day, and I never received it. The other negatives were minor items like the bathtub does not drain well, so when you shower you’re in ankle deep water. Also the bed is not connected to the headboard which will fall if the bed moves any. Also the pillows are old foam and very uncomfortable. Some of them blinds were broken. The worst part was the apartment over me was up at 5:00 am (even on Sunday) and you could hear every step they took.
This was a nice 2-bedroom apartment conveniently located in the Fenway neighborhood. My family came into town for my graduation and they were all able to stay together here at Evolve Fenway. It was extremely convenient since I live only 2 blocks away, my graduation was less than a mile away, and it was easy for me to show them around Boston and Cambridge since the Green Line is right outside the front entrance. We really enjoyed the ability to cook family dinners together instead of having to eat out all of the time. The rental had plenty of room, was very convenient, quiet at night, and was fairly priced. The booking team did a good job communicating with me as well. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others as well.
Overall its a pretty good place and the price is cheap except the part that you need someone who lives there to help you get in the lobby since there is NO front desk.
This place is really nice and spacious, and VERY well location. Walking distance to the Fenway stop, super safe area. Communication with the management staff is a bit bad. Kind of felt like pulling teeth. Don't answer their phone and do not send check-in info in advance. Wish they would be better at sending check-in details a few days before check-in. Or at least a half day before. Not the day of, a couple of hours before check-in. What do people without internet access do?!
After several calls for check-in information, it became obvious that they had overbooked and did not have a room available for me, despite my Expedia confirmation. Their excuses for not providing me with check-in details kept changing over multiple calls, until finally I landed at Boston Logan and they admitted they didn't have a room for me. The final excuse what that my cc declined, another lie. Expedia found and booked me another room before I left the airport, using the same cc. I was now 15 miles outside of the city due to lack of availability on a very busy night. Overall, a pretty horrible experience with Evolve and Northeast Suites.
So it was hard to write a review for this apartment as it isnt a hotel, it is an apartment. The distinction is that check-in involves additional coordination such as sending a photo of ID and card details over email. This seems to happen on the morning of your stay which makes for a stressful booking experience and feels last minute.
When you get your booking details on the day of checkin you will be sent a code to a padlock box (just on the driveway into the garage next to the apartment block), this will have your apartment key inside it. If this process was seamless then this is ok, but the organising company dont seem to be able to manage things at the moment, hence if you need to speak to them, it can take 30-60minutes to sort, while spending ages on hold, or speaking to numerous people who are caring but cannot do anything to help.
The outcome is I recommend staying here, only if you expect to add 30-60 minutes of faff when arriving (and preparing for your arrival). If you dont want this faff then I suggest another location....
(The actual apartment is shiny and lovely on the other hand, though a fire alarm went off all morning so my lie in was less than perfect...)
Building is right next to Green T / Fenway. Walking distance to Fenway/Kenmore/St. Mary and hospital core @ Brookline/Longwood. Very quiet area and workout room is nice. Nice touch to have recycling in building. Kitchen cookware could be upgraded.
Really happy with this booking. Very large apartmentment, with two bedrooms AND 2 baths! very clean and well furnished, although would have appreciated a tea bag :). Perfect location for BU.
The bed fell apart, literally, and glass sliding shower door fell on my foot when sliding off. This does not meet hotel.com standards in my opinion. There were personals items left behind from the cleaning crew that I think might stay there when it isn’t being rented. I’m really let down and would actually like a refund.
Location to Fenway ideal. Building clean. Apartment immaculate. Lost reservation for second room - said card did not go through. Totally non-sensical. Unprofessional. Obviously overbooked and was not forthcoming. Huge inconvenience to 2nd couple. Instructions to access building were apparently e-mailed to us but not received. No parking thru building.
So good stuff— this was a lovely, new, huge apartment. Very clean, lovely bathroom, kitchen area and spacious living room. Plenty of closet space. And building was very well situated near Brookline Ave, lots of shops and restaurants.
The not so good- the bed was THE worst, bar none that I have ever tried to sleep in. It was bowed in the middle, so my husband and I kept rolling into the middle and waking each other up. We paid a fortune for this place and got a horrible night’s sleep.
The communication pre checkin left much to be desired. I had asked to check in a little earlier because our plane landed hours before checkin time— very curt email said no. asked to leave bags—also no. then when we got there early, just to see what the place looked like, a lovely man who saw us looking bewildered asked about our reservation, said the apt was ready and got us in early. So why couldn’t they have been nicer about it via email in advance?
We were in a one bedroom which was oddly configured in that the living room was enormous, with a lot of empty wasted space, while the bedroom was so cramped that I had to inch sideways around the bed to get out of the room.
Finally the kitchen was lovely but not all that well furnished. Would have liked to see a kettle to boil water. In their defense, there was a keurig with 2 coffee pods (but no decaf). I had brought instant decaf and had to boil water on the stove in a pot. Not terrible, of course, but a little more cumbersome.
There was no parking permit for the garage under the building, which was virtually empty. I spent 1 1/2 hours driving around downtown Boston at 5 o'clock at night looking for a parking garage, which cost $28 for overnight parking.
With the above AND the fact the unit had a number of needed repairs, the cost was outrageous!!!
Great place to stay, right by Fenway and BU. Couple of issues. The mattress in the bedroom with the closet is shot. My wife and I literally fell into the middle and could not sleep comfortably. Need to be replaced. Also, the drain in the shower is backed up and needs to be snaked. 15 min shower had water up to my ankles.
The apt was beautiful and the area was perfect since we were there for a Yankee/Red Sox game. Very convenient to a lot of this. However the blinds broke as soon as we touched them. we had to MacGyver it so that the blinds would stay down. It looked as though someone previously broke them and just glued it back together. I emailed the property detailing the issue after i read a magnet on the fridge saying anything broken would be charged. Hopefully I dont get charged because literally 3 of the 4 blinds were broken. The bed was uncomfortable. There were no other mirrors in the whole apt so getting ready was a bit of challenge if you are with a group of people. Check out is at 11am so why was the cleaning lady at our door at 9am. We told her we will be out at 11am. She then proceeded to knock on our door every half hr until we finally told her to just come in and do what she needs to do. In total it was a good trip but the stay could have been better.
Room was clean but bed had "pilling" on sheets and was not comfortable. We arrived to find bathroom door hanging off because of prior damage - could not close it unless you lifted it and slammed it shut - not good. Coffee maker nice idea with K-cups but kind of a tease for anyone staying just one night who wanted cream or sugar??? Cremora and sugar packets would have been nice for the $$$ spent. Went out in the AM early and found the code to get back in no longer worked even though we had till 11 am to check out. It was only 9am at the time. Finally got someone to answer the phone at the number given on paperwork only to be left on hold for 20 minutes and had to count on another guest who happened to come along to let us in!!!!!! Not a good experience - some of the furniture was roughed up and the AC kept shutting itself off overnite on a very sticky evening in Boston. Never again.
Very happy with this apartment. It is in a great location, with lots of mainstream and local eateries nearby, even a Target within walking distance for those forgotten items or just to stock the fridge. The area is safe to walk around even at night. Take the Fenway subway stop not the Kenmore stop as we were advised by the Transit Authority lady; Fenway is closer. Also, look for an email a few days before your trip for entry instructions, nobody answers or returns calls, at least they didn't for us. Our info email arrived from Tyler and he did resend it in response to my panicked voicemail message, but he didn't bother texting or calling me to tell me it was there. We found it by chance, having called the concierge listed at the door entry who could not help us directly, but did give us Tyler's cell phone number, thus all of sudden "Tyler" stuck out in my memory as a received email. Plenty of clean space for this family of 4.
The location was fantastic. It was spacious. There were his and hers small closets in the bedroom. It was one of the cleanest stays I've had. It was easy to pick up the keys. I would stay here again, but I would think twice because of the beds. That was a terribly uncomfortable mattress. One or two night would be no problem, but longer than that would start to wear on my back. We stayed 3 nights in Fenway 106, so I can't say if other rooms have a similar issue. If the bed was just slightly more comfortable, I would rate it as a 5 star experience.
Great location, easy access to building and apartment, always spotless. Communication with the office is always answered promptly. Parking is close by.
Everything ok. Just remember to do your check-in before arriving to the hotel because you need codes to go into your room.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Not a hotel; weird smell
I didn't fully understand (maybe my fault) that this was really an apartment complex and not a hotel. The instructions for getting in came from an email address that wasn't the name of the property and had an ominous "send your credit card info" message. So, I ignored that and then didn't understand how to get in. The apartment had a weird smell to it that was somewhat nauseating. Not going to stay there again.
