I did not require super attentive service or astonishing presentation of food, or attention to detail and so if these were missing it did not affect my stay. "Check in was easy, our room was quaint and cosy. We loved the beams and authentic inn-feel! Breakfast was delicious and we ate there the first night which was very tasty. Service was superb, we felt very well looked after. Would highly recommend if looking to stay in the area."

"We were going to a wedding nearby and needed an early check in to be able to get changed, having flown into LHR 2 hours earlier. The manager (Amanda I think her name was) had both our rooms ready for us which was amazing. Rooms were spacious, well furnished and immaculately clean. Breakfast was fab (I had eggs florentine). All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We'll be back :-)"

"A pleasant stay in an attractive country pub The room was spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The bed comfortable. The food was good especially the breakfast. It is in a pretty village good for walking outside. Plenty of parking. Would like to see double glazing on the windows as right by a road. However this isn’ta problem at night as very quiet and peaceful. The room was exceptional with vaulted beams and chandeliers. A lovely bathroom with pleasant toiletries but the shower shelf on...

"A lovely romantic getaway! Very friendly staff, tastefully decorated rooms and great breakfast! Its remote but its a great position to explore the area. We werent very impressed with our dinner from the pub but we ordered late so maybe we were just unlucky. We stayed in 'Normandy' room which is a superior double - nice room but it only has a bath, no shower, which we didnt realise when we request a room with a bath. We would definitely stay again when in the area. "

"Two days before arrival we were emailed to say there would be a loud disco below our room until 11.45pm. They offered cancellation but it was far too late to change our visit and rearrange, so we put up with it. The room was ok but wasnt cleaned on the 2nd day. No Breakfast available both days. Pub was loud and noisy, would suit some but not us. Had Friday evening meal in restaurant 1st Friday of December - we were the only two people in the restaurant! Food and service fine, but room...
