⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Quinta São José do Barrilário in the Douro Valley! The property is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by vineyards with breathtaking views of the valley. The peaceful atmosphere, lovely accommodations, and stunning scenery made our stay feel truly special. It was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of Portugal’s wine country. A memorable experience and a place we would love to return to!

PROS -fantastic host.. Jose was simply awesome -beautiful venue. short drive from Regua -comfortable bed and soft bedding -lots of hot water and great pressure One of the best B&B's we've stayed at in Portugal. I can't find anything negative to say. We highly recommend!

My family (2 adults, 1 child) really enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and rich culture and history of this part of the Douro Valley. Maria was a wonderful host, and she was especially helpful in finding a particular, fairly new viewpoint in the Douro Valley and just in providing helpful information for things to do and things to eat. We really want to come back when we choose to visit Portugal again in the future.

Nice, quiet and modern hotel. Close public parking. No elevator. Friendly staff. Good breakfast - the Expedia pricing doesn’t include breakfast.

Meticulously clean property, quiet, relaxing, and professionally managed hotel. I have nothing but superlatives to say about our experience in Favaios. The town itself is worth the trip and the people are among the most friendly I have encountered in Portugal. Even the dogs are mellow. We will return.

For someone who wants the experience of a full five star hotel luxury amenities and service — Vidago Palace is your choice. Starting with the greeting at the royal entrance of the palace and exceptional reception service and ending with the spa treatments everything makes you feel like royalty😂 Not to mention their excellent breakfast and a Michelin star dinner we had for a special occasion. And of course a magic park surrounding the palace.

A beautifully built property with the decoration of a fine home. Beautiful antiques, great sitting areas, first class breakfast. A great stop.

Great check in process, got a vineyard tour and tasting included with our stay and the tour guide was awesome! Really enjoyed our balcony view of the river and valley.

Hosts went out of their way to accommodate the guests. Friendly staff. Superb dinner. Breakfast with large variety. Excellent house wines.

This is such a beautiful place. We received a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality. We felt as if we were old friends being welcomed into this Quinta. Rodrigo and his staff have created an exceptional environment. The location is perfect. Close to all the sights of the Douro Valley but far enough to feel like you are out of the tourist zone. We had the best stay of our entire Portugal trip here! The staff were amazing. The pool is beautiful, and the food and wine were fantastic. We ordered dinner prior to arriving and would highly recommend that experience. Everything is very clean! Plenty of parking for our rental car. We had car trouble when leaving and the staff was very helpful in assisting. We will be back! Thank you!

This is a beautiful property. The pride and tradition expressed both by the family who owns and runs the property as well as by the manner in which the property is maintained was clear. I would highly recommend a stay at this winery if you looking for excellent wine and a true experience with a Portuguese wine maker. We dislike "touristy" experience when traveling so this did not disappoint. We hope to return some day!!
