"On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes. The bed was quite comfortable. On the last evening we went downstairs to get a drink etc and the place was all in darkness! Bar closed hotel closed no one at all around!! We were very peed off to say the least, I needed a coffee to take tablets but nothing and no one to ask! We decided there and then to leave, no bar no atmosphere no one around, we felt completely alone with no one in case of emergency. We packed up and left."

"I’m not sure I can fully do this place justice in words, but I’ll give it a go. Hilmarton Manor is truly unbelievable—spacious, beautifully renovated, and full of character. The art and décor throughout the house are thoughtfully curated and make it a really interesting place to stay.The facilities are exceptional. Our group made great use of the gym and the private cinema—watching Arsenal lift the Premier League title in there was a definite highlight! There’s also an exceptional flower garden, which someone in our group described as something you’d expect to pay to see at a National Trust site. And that’s before even mentioning the swimming pond next to the sauna, which was a personal favourite of mine (this may have been influenced by the 30 degree weather we had!).As for the hosts, Gemma and David were simply fantastic—friendly, responsive, and always on hand to help with anything we needed… even the truly critical questions like “where are the skewers?”. I initially booked when the property had no reviews, but Gemma kindly gave me a full video tour beforehand, which was hugely appreciated and reassuring. She also recommended Chef Gary, who catered one evening for us—it was a really special experience.We had an amazing long weekend and made some fantastic memories. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hilmarton Manor to anyone.A big thank you to Gemma and David for such a memorable stay."

"We stayed in the tower suite which was overall lovely room. For that price, I would appreciate if the amenities are a bit nicer. The quality of the shamoo/conditioner was not very good in my opinion. I found the pillows were useless, too airly and too soft, feels like no substance in them. My neck was in terrible pain when I woke up. The pool was nice but I think it would be good to have a booking system. At some point, too many people came and there were not enough room for everyone. The restaurant was good. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. I liked the fresh flowers displayed there. We didn't interact many staff there, but the lady checked in and out could be more friendly and welcoming though. It was our first time anywhere hotels we stayed at, we were not asked how was your stay? kind of stuff at the check out. I was prepared to give a little feedback of the room, but didn't have chance."

"A lovely cottage, which had been given a festive feel without being gaudy. Kitchen provided all basic utensils, crockery etc.The welcome package was a pleasant surprise. Overall a comfortable, and enjoyable visit.Was in a rural location which is evidently known for it's flooding. The roads approaching are currently on the rough side (similar to most of the country sadly).The sign for the 'Farm' was only on one side of the driveway and quite small, would suggest a larger/clearer sign on both sides of the driveway. Very easy to miss the entrance (worse if you're arriving in the dark)."
