Perfect location

The house is in a remodel phase. If you're looking for a budget friendly house on Lake Superior, this is the place. It is no Hilton, yet, more of a Budget Inn. It has so much potential to be an amazing home. Check in was a breeze. Ken responded quickly whenever I reached out to him. Our favorite part was the beach. Quiet and secluded and a rock hunters paradise. We would stay again.

Just steps away

Just Steps away from Beautiful beach!!! The house is was great for what we needed! It was a little tired but overall clean! The outside needs some up keep but nothing that affected our trip! We would stay again!

We had a wonderful time with our family and had a family member get married. The house was centrally located to what we were doing and made it easier to get to a from the wedding ceremony. But the house, as indicated by others is in a state of renovation. A few examples are, the light over dining room table was partially broken and held together with scotch tape, no screen on the screen door for the sliding door in the kitchen. Windows need to be seriously cleaned with bugs all over them. The worst part was garbage left all over the back and side yards along with under the front and back deck next to the kitchen. Two garbage cans next to the front door was also filled with garbage, which I felt should not be up to us to call to get cleaned up. I will say it was much different inside the house where everything was clean and ready for us to use the house. Also, the listing indicates that there was a hot tub available and there wasn’t one. If the house ever gets the renovations finished and cleaned up we feel the house will be a gem on Lake Superior

Great stay! We had one little issue and Ken offered to fix it right away. Comfortable beds. Listened to soothing Lake Superior waves all day and night. Very enjoyable!

Quiet get away

Large house with lots of room! We are a family of 7 and there was definitely room for more. The views are great and falling asleep with the windows open listening to the waves was perfect! The house is under a bit of construction but we didn’t mind, nothing that prevents you from living life normally. The yard is in need of a clean up but again nothing that prevents you from living life. The beach is beautiful!!

Nice stay

Ken was on top of any of our needs! Love the location and was a very good place outside for our dogs. Needs a little up keep but nothing that hindered our comfort. We will be back this summer and really looking forward to it!!

AWFUL! Not worth the $$$ at all.

Piss stains everywhere, completely unfinished, no amenities, creep, not homey. No cable/dish, Wi-Fi-only GOOD thing. No batteries in the remotes, nothing, nothing, nothing. On Lake Superior? Yup. Can you access it? NOPE! Awful, bad bad bad.

Home is in great location and on the beach with a few stairs to it. House does need some things finish inside. We did have a great time.

Fun and amazing views on the Lake!!!

My mom wanted to go rock hounding and this was the perfect spot for it! We took a day trip to Grand Marais and Au Train which was about 2 hours away. The rest of the time we hung out on our own private beach. There are neighbors but they were very quiet and super friendly. We only saw two other people the whole four nights we were there. There are a lot of stairs inside and out. My mom is in her late 70’s and was pretty tired by the end of our stay. Everything listed in the reviews is correct but did not affect our stay in any way. Note that any mention of spiders were all outside. Ken was very helpful. We left the coffee pot on and I didn’t realize until we were two hours into our day trip. We reached out and he stopped by to shut it off and let us know all was good. I would definitely stay here again! We were also able to see the Northern Lights for the first time and had the most perfect view for it!!!

Excellent location, home not ideal for small children

Had a wonderful time in the UP, house is centrally situated for Eastern UP activities, enjoyed the time we spent on the beach, house is in some state of renovation (seems it has been for a while), but for us the location (central/beach) made it perfect in spite of the ongoing repairs. Owner responded immediately to a problem that we had (the problem was ours, not his).

This property was mediocre. House had a lot of spiders. Rooms were as described. The property should have provided more and better towels. Towels were limited for the shower and they were thin. The dryer was not working.

Family Vacation

The house was beautiful and right on Lake Superior! Location was awesome for all the sightseeing we did, wasn’t far from most of the places we went to! The owner was quick to respond to any needs we had while there! Neighbors were all very friendly!

Cool weather getaway

The setting of this house cannot be beat. It has been a wonderful home, but it is in need of some care. The landscape was a bit overgrown and some minor repairs are needed inside. Overall, it was great, and we would stay again. The sound of the waves on the shore made up for any small negative items.

The one star review “Stay Away” pretty much sums it up, a year later. I’ll add the rear outdoor basement access stairs were filled with water. I’d be surprised if this place has ANY repeat customers.

Paradise

We loved the house and property. The beach access is paradise. The house has plenty of room. The kitchen and outdoor decks are all spacious. Beautiful views. Beautiful property. We can’t wait to come back!!

great location right on the water was beautiful lots of room but could of used a couple of extra dining chairs and outside chairs towels, glasses and cups were sparse and we had to wash cups and glasses before we could use them

So disappointing

Carpet in living room was disgusting, with more dog excrement stains than you could count Every sq ft had stains. Kitchen floor dirty. Insects in and on top of ice cubes. Rented this home excited to be on Superior. Furniture on master deck was filthy. Only one working light in kitchen over sink; had to use cellphone flashlight to see how to regulate stove and see if fish was done. Dog biscuits on dinner plates in cabinet, plastic glasses dirty. Master toilet lever was pulled out of tank.; worked sometimes. Owner acknowledged that nasty carpet needs to be “yanked out”. We had planned on staying 3 nights, but left the following am , happy to get in Best Western. We VRBO several weeks a year, and this ranks in the top 2 of bad experiences. Note that the foyer picture is beautiful , but don’t walk in any direction from it. Several holes in Sheetrock, house was obviously unfinished. Owner said he would refund 2 unused nights, but it would be more fair for a full refund.

Great week on the UP

Located in woods on Whitefish Bay. Good beach access. The house is located in quite area only noise was waves on the shore. Very helpful property manager responded to pre trip questions and checked with us while at property.
