Lovely few days at Straddie
It was ideal for our family. Located at the bottom of George Nothling Drive, close the Home Beach and Cylinder. We chose it because it was pet friendly, which it was. Despite the listing stating to contact the owner for details of the internet, we were told that no internet is available. This despite being able to access Netflix on the tv, something that requires logging into the net. Discover Stradbroke told us they could provide a device but that we would have to pay for the data. I know it was high season but at a cost of over 1000 a night for a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house we expected, in this day and age, to be provided with internet access, esp ad the listing indicated this was possible. In the end Discover Stradbroke provided us with 25Gig of data. The property is not air conditioned which is what we expected but there was no fan in the main bedroom and the louvers in that room are not screened making for a couple of very uncomfortable nights until we borrowed a fan from a friend. There was also no body wash or soap provided for the shower. Despite these drawbacks we enjoyed a very pleasant stay. However with just a little thought and a few simple repairs and provision of the internet, the amenity of the property could be greatly improved.
