"The hotel looks very nice at first glance, but is in need of updates and maintenance. The first room they assigned us reeked of cigarette smoke. We asked for a new room and then the AC did not work at all in the second room. It just kept recirculating warm/muggy air. Thankfully we were visiting in April; it would have been unbearable in the summer. We decided to deal with it since we were only there for one night and at least it didn’t smell like we were sleeping in an ashtray. The “destination fee” amenities are not up-to-date and all we got out of it was a small lukewarm coffee and a sad pastry. Location was ok, price was nice, but the stay was miserable. I recommend looking elsewhere. "

"Definitely a different type of property. > Room: Beds on a platform one step above the floor. Digital controls. Decent shower. In room fridge would not get cold. TV signal was spotty. Sink did not drain well. Told they had filtered water and ice but the machines did not work. Besides the concern about tripping off the step, the room was fine. > Cafe: I had used their online ordering which took my order and claimed it charged my room. Upon going down to pick it up, I was told their online ordering 'doesn't work'. When I attempted to re-order breakfast they told me they were now serving lunch. When I attempted to order something from the menu, they told me they didn't have it. Each of the three mornings I tried to order they were out (drip coffee, yogurt, sandwich). > Lobby 'private guest lounge': advertised as coffee/tea/water/fruit in the morning, 6 - 10am. Each of the three mornings I went down the 'hot water' was luke warm. Only one day was there fruit. > $45 amenities charge: Supposedly for the gym and wellness classes. The first morning I was there the class was cancelled."

"It was OK. Nothing memorable. The elevators were awful. They were three elevators but at any given time only one was working. So with 43 floors and only three elevator elevators, it was a challenge to get up and down every single time. Sometimes the elevator would stop at every floor. The building is old. The location was fine because it was very close to Subway station and there was a restaurant and cafés nearby.. if I had to go for work, it was OK but definitely wouldn’t go back for vacation."

"We stayed here for a concert at the Barclays Center and would do so again. Clean room, easy check in. About a 30 minute walk to the venue and close by to a nice park, restaurants, and Wegmans. "

"This hotel is like a dorm room for a bunch of kids looking to party in Brooklyn. The staff was nice, but were all kids and couldn't really help with anything. The rooms are clean but everything in the rooms was cheap and rundown. Sheets were pilled beyond belief and the towels were worse than any gym towel I've ever used. Bed was firm as were the pillows, which is a nice change. People LOUDLY come and go all hours of the night slamming doors and yelling in the hallways like they are at a big party weekend. I had earplugs in each night and I still struggled to sleep. The elevator was out for half of my stay. Thankfully the neighborhood is still funky and interesting. Great coffee at Secret Coffee, best bagels at Riviera's. The hotel is a block or so from the Subway so that is a plus also. Would never stay again and I assume most people staying there that aren't 22 wouldn't either. There are a few *slightly* nicer spots nearby like Nova if you are going to a concert or something at Monarch/etc."

"The restaurant doesn't look good. The seats are dirty and the tables are ugly. It’s not looking like a restaurant"

"We stayed for 3 nights, and after the 2nd night, the cleaning staff failed to clean our room, despite our having remined the front desk when we were going out in the early afternoon that we wanted cleaning service. They said they would call cleaning right away. This happened the last time we stayed here in January. Cleaning staff never cleaned our room despite my stopping by one of the staff on my way our for the day and letting them know I would be out of the room for about 5 hours."
