"Lovely stay, very friendly helpful staff couldn’t do enough for us. Twin room no 4 small but very comfy, very nicely decorated, nice views to the left. Lovely bathroom with nice hot shower. We had an evening meal and breakfast there the food was lovely, service excellent. Plenty of parking, nothing much near by but that suited us. Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime. If you want to eat there at night make sure you book a table in advance, we weren’t made aware of this before hand and found them to be booked to our dismay, but they very kindly managed to fit us in. "

"This hotel was a real find. Very friendly staff, our room was very comfortable with lovely toiletries and bathroom extras in a bag. We were taken to our room by a very nice man who left fresh milk and home baked cookies. Our meal was excellent and the breakfast freshly cooked, and quite a lot of choice."

"A wonderful little pub set in a side road away from the main road. Room had been decorated too a high standard, nice bathroom with complimentary bath products. Great values for money. Nice walking in the area. "

"I cannot praise the owners highly enough. Rather than call us a taxi in order to travel to a restaurant which was over 5 miles away, the owner gave us a lift in his own car. When we returned the bar was relatively full and everyone extremely friendly. It might be said that the owners are not responsible for their clientele, but it seemed to us that the nature of the place - how it is run - probably results in attracting to it the kind of people it was a pleasure to meet - albeit only for an hour or so. P.S. The cooked breakfast was just right. "

"Stayed overnight prior to a day at the East Somerset Railway 10 minutes away. Jeff welcomed us on arrival , and showed us to our room. Room was compact, but very comfortable, en suite, tea and coffee , tv and hairdryer in room , and very comfy bed. Had a nice meal in the evening, served by a very friendly lady ( sorry we didn’t catch her name) , in the cosy dining room. We pre-ordered breakfast, which was lovely and set us up for the day. All in all this was s great stay, with friendly hosts and great value. We would thoroughly recommend the Pecking Mill Inn."

"The purpose of my stay in Castle Cary was to go visit the Newt in Somerset.I was warmly greeted and thanks to Martin’s lifts to and from the Newt made it so easy.the house is amazing.the garden backs unto fields.It is idyllic. I recommend this B&B to anyone who loves a beautiful setting"
