"What an interesting stay. We loved it. We stayed in the haytower. The place was so cool. They created a wonderful lodging out of an old building that in the late 30’s housed farm animals and upstairs kept hay for the livestock. It now has all the conveniences of home with kitchen, washer dryer, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, large tv. Upstairs has 2 twins with views of a waterfall as well as the coastline on the opposite side. Roomy shower. Fun stay. We could have stayed a week or more. Did not get to try out the hot tub. Next time.😊"
"The rooms are not large but they are clean and atmospheric. The amenities were good, we used the hot tub and ate at the bar which was more family friendly cuisine (and prices) than the restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and assisted us when we had a flight cancellation."
"The location is breathtaking; the log cabin style building, gorgeous. No staff except 1 cleaner who looks like they hate life; no front desk, no one to call (though the flyer gives a phone#, nobody answers); no one answered our emails. We arrived early and asked to check in early, no response from anyone; waited 5 hours in the living room until they finally emailed our key code (the building was entirely empty of guests, so no reason to not let us check in early-rude). The hot tub was broken the entire week. We requested they turn up our shower water heat as it was only warm the first day. They gave us a room with a single queen; I booked 1 with 2 twins and requested they give us a different room or a refund. The housekeepers immediately came over and went into the room and split the bed (it was just 2 twins pushed together!!; beware if you booked a queen). The breakfast was alright, and they had a phenomenal tea selection and a coffee machine (that would only spit out about 4 oz of coffee per time which ig is common in Iceland). The windows were absolutely filthy; they should hire a pro to clean them. No sheet on the bed just a blanket and comforter. 1 small tv close to the ceiling that worked. The room above us was very squeaky whenever the other guests walked around. World's smallest fridge that only fit about 2 beers. Price was nice but I wouldn't stay here again given no staff anywhere on or offsite and nobody seemed to care about the premises (gutters leaked)"
"Overall clean and exactly as expected. The pod was cold even with the heater on and there was extreme wind on the night we stayed that was extremely loud. The communal space is nice, but the washrooms were under stocked in terms of paper towel and toilet paper."
"The hotel is new and beautiful. Ample parking outside and across the street from some shops, including grocery store. Our room (room 210) was very spacious and the bathroom was big with a huge tub. The breakfast spread was good with cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, pastries, etc. Definitely enough to fill you up in the morning. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious (steak meal). We picked this spot to be closer to the attractions in the south/south east and to hopefully have a better chance of clear, dark skies to see the northern lights. Following the aurora app we drove about 10 minutes away and were able to capture the northern lights.
This was such a nice hotel and great area to be in. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m back. "
