Our pre cruise, four-night stay at the Casa Bevant (CB) was truly memorable. The hotel is very centrally located. Turn right upon exiting the hotel and the Recoleta Cemetery, the Recoleta Urban Mall and a host of sidewalk cafes, restaurants and even bars are within a 5-minute walk along a lovely tree lined street. This was a great find. Location was excellent with many eateries and sights close by. Minutes from the theater district. Safe area to walk at night. The service by the hotel staff is second to NONE.

We stayed at the Tango de Mayo Hotel on the backend of a multi-week trip to Argentina, right before heading home. The staff is really terrific...knowledgable, helpful, friendly and English is good, too. They were very helpful in getting us started and kept us going to places and things we might not have gone to. Take their bus excursion, I think $50 in cash....better than others. Change money in blue...up the main shopping street there is a small "street Mall" with cameras in the window, go into the mall and there is an exchange room there...safe, honest, quick. Great location with a lot of bars and restaurants around including local tango schools. The room are nicely don and very comfortable. They key 5 star difference is all about service. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this one provided the best service ever from arranging airport and ferry transfers, reservations, tickets to local events, wake up calls and preparing to go breakfasts when we left before breakfast was served. On a pleasant quiet side street but just a few blocks away from Santa Fe street made our stay very pleasant the staff was courteous and helpful. And being small we didn’t have to waste time walking thru large lobbies. With only a few rooms per floor there were no long hallways.

Hotel is a high level business-oriented facility. Many of the guests appeared to be professionals visiting Argentina on business. Large number of airline crew present as well. Check-in was smooth, though for persons arriving on early flights, getting to your room might be a problem. I was upgraded for a moderate rate and got a room on the executive floor right away.
