"The begin with the owners were not around during the check-in process (I believe they had a family emergency) but we did finally find someone to get us access. The cabin was full of cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere (this is expected somewhat since it's a cabin but this was more than just a few). Overall the cabin was in pretty good shape which was the biggest thing for us. The entire grounds were NOTHING like the photos (old photos) and needed to be mowed / weeded very badly. "The location was central and easy to find. It’s not far from restaurants and shopping, although they aren’t really a walkable distance, parking isn’t usually an issue in Springfield. It’s pet friendly and there were multiple guests with dogs. The hotel is built courtyard style, with 9 stories of floors that all look into the large central area over the restaurant. There is a coffee shop onsite. Room was large and very conveniently located. There is an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The only ice machine is located on the 5th floor. The bed was ok as far as hotel beds go (we certainly have had worse). There were 2 styles of pillows (some firm, some fluffy). The room had a chair and a pull out sofa, as well as a table and two dining chairs. All of the chairs were reasonably comfortable, but the I don’t like the trend all hotels seem to have taken of housekeeping being only upon request, but it seems to be everywhere, not just this hotel. With limited housekeeping, there should be more than 1 small garbage can in the room. Breakfast was decent, but a little pricey. The lady who runs the breakfast was really wonderful, though. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty good, and the prices were reasonable."

"The outdoor pool was closed for renovation but they have a nice indoor pool that wasn’t listed on Expedia for some reason. The property is set back from the street, so the entrance is a little hard to see and understand at first. We had a trailer, so it was great for us with the extra parking area by the convention center building. Room was comfortable, updated and quiet. Enjoyed the balcony and onsite restaurant was great with plenty of variety. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Would definitely stay there again. Liked the vibe of the place too. Bathroom is a little small but still very nice and room was spacious. We had a king bed standard room. The bed was comfortable and they gave you a lot of fluffy towels refreshed daily. Only downside was the TV didn’t have a working menu or channel guide, so to see what was on, you had to click channel to channel and being cable, it was mostly commercial after commercial."
