"The manager/owner of this place was a very nice man. You can tell he is putting a ton of work into the place to fix it up and update it. While I did see people working around the property, I wasn't bothered by any construction noise. This place is super clean, and the towels and linens smelled very fresh. The views from the backside of the property are beautiful and so is their small garden. I felt the value of my stay far exceeded what I paid. I was glad to stay there. Bonus: there was electric car charging on site."

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ottawa Starved Rock Area

"The Fairfield Inn located in Ottawa, Illinois was VERY clean and bright inside. And the staff were amazing people ~ very informational, friendly, & helpful! There was an indoor pool, fitness room, & free breakfast every morning. The rooms were very clean & furnished w/ many extras, including iron & ironing board; hair dryer (in case anyone forgot theirs); & plenty of lighting. Nice downtown area w/ many excellent restaurants to chose from, Starved Rock State Park area is a great hike full of colors! Deb"

"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Rock Falls, IL. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was welcoming throughout our visit. A special shout-out goes to Christina, the breakfast coordinator. She did an outstanding job keeping the breakfast area clean, well-stocked, and inviting. Her friendly attitude and warm hospitality made each morning a pleasure and truly enhanced our stay. Employees like Christina make a lasting impression and are a great asset to the hotel. The only disappointment was that the pool was closed during our visit while waiting for a new heater to be inspected. While we were sad not to be able to use it, we understand that safety comes first and appreciate the hotel taking the proper steps before reopening it. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily stay here again. Thank you to Christina and the entire team for making us feel welcome! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Shallowbrook Farm: Where World-Record History Meets Private Luxury

"This was our first time staying at Shallowbrook Farm and we were blown away! A perfect setup for our annual family reunion of 29 people, ranging in age from 3-75. The entire home and grounds were very clean and well appointed. Kenzie, our host, was very friendly and responsive to our questions. The lovely pool. sport court, and game room provided something for everyone. We all loved it and are looking forward to returning! Thank you Kenzie!"
